I remember first playing Deus Ex in 2004 and thinking to myself:
How can I enjoy this game if I can't touch power sockets and have to figure out the correct voltage conversion?

Re: Expeditions: Conquistador Semi-Free on GOG
Turns out I got it for free (along with two other games) after I bought The Witcher 3 GOTY (+ UT2k4 ECE) off the site. Nice.

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
I see. It's still possible to utilize stealth in boss fights, but like I said, the reaction time is a bit ridiculous straight after a conversation, so it takes some trial and error to pull off if you're playing on realistic. Felt I needed to know with the knowledge that you're not into that kind of...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
I've never cared for challenges in video games. Then why does your mod have boss fights in which the boss kills you almost instantaneously with two shots from an LMG on realistic difficulty with a very, very small reaction window after the boss conversation ends? Unoptimized difficulty settings, an...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
I've never cared for challenges in video games. In Solitaire, I have to click merely 5 times and I've already lost the game. Oy . Reminds me of those S.T.A.LK.E.R - Shadow of Chernobyl modders and how their mods have turned the game into something more akin to a misery simulator. Or as they call it ...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
Yoink . Indeed, before anyone accuses anyone of anything, they should check the readme files first. ;] At one point I did consider replacing the clyzm guns in DXN with these I got imported from a mod for Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. But then I realized I'd have to fix a lot of other things as well ...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
Now name me one big Deus Ex content mod with 100% original assets. Hatchet , probably (I hope the link is correct, ModDB appears to be down at the moment). Just about every mod, whether for Deus Ex or anything else, includes material from other mods/some other sources. For example, the most popular...

Re: Is it true new Deus Ex:MD split into two games?
How about you tell us? ;) Play it and tell us your opinion, sacrifice a little of your time for us :< I really miss the times when I had free time and could just boot up a game and play it like mad. But yeah, the side missions being better than the main one actually sounds pretty good to me, becaus...

Re: Is it true new Deus Ex:MD split into two games?
Seems like the game has received quite the mixed reception. So what's the verdict around here on this forum? Ignoring the "projecting America's social issues in half-metaphorical form on everyone" factor, is it actually a worthy Deus Ex game that's actually a part of the lore, and not just a cyberpu...

Re: GMDXv8.0 Release
! Hello again, WildcatPhoenix - I'm forever grateful to you for being able to use those MiB NPC sounds (and some of blueneptune's MiB archi) in DXN. :] Also, only now did I notice that you posted on the DX:MD thread as well! In the 3 years since DXN was released I have become old, fat and seemingly ...

Re: Is it true new Deus Ex:MD split into two games?
Combine that with the microtransactions and elaboration on things that shouldn't be elaborated upon (the original Deus Ex's lore) and topical references (Augs' Lives Matter fiasco), I think it's the end for the Deus Ex franchise - at least for me. It's in hands that clearly do not know what to do w...

Re: Mapping question
Depends on if you're using UED1 or UED2, because brushes like that can be made in about two-three steps with UED2's 2D shape editor.

Re: GMDXv8.0 Release
No problem, man. It's likely that this particular BSP hole came to be due to the modifications made to the original level.

Re: GMDXv8.0 Release
It's a rendering error caused by the ancient Unreal Engine 1.5. Fixing a BSP Hole (aka Satan's Fiery Asshole) requires some kind of alteration (most commonly changing an additive brush to a semi-solid brush) to the level archi, after which it needs to be re-rendered (or rebuilt, to be UED-technical)...
