Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Hi G-Flex, how are things going with the latest version? As we are basing Revision's DeusEx.u on yours I'm anxious to get your latest release that includes all your fixes. For instance I don't think you've uploaded the code that prevents tear gas from gas grenades to spawn through walls, and that w...

Re: HDTP Beta, Shifter and New Vision
I apologize if this was answered somewhere, but out of curiosity, can the stack overflow bug also be reproduced using kentie's launcher? If so, recommending a patch to him might be a good idea.

Re: Do youtubers read off scripts? And if so, how?
Most vlogs have enough jump-cuts in them that they never have to memorize more than a few words at a time, so you're probably fine.

Re: Assistance with basic coding?
My advice: Don't copy over any of the targeting reticle adjustment code from Deus Ex Enhanced, because it's weird and doesn't work right.Dinjoralo wrote:So, I'm trying to merge the Deus Ex Enhanced UI mod with the latest version of Shifter, but I've come across a problem; I have no idea what I'm doing.

Re: Deus Ex v2.0 - An unofficial fan patch for Deus Ex (HELP
The cinematic sequence in the intro should be letterboxed (i.e. should have black bars on the top and bottom). If you're using a widescreen resolution, you're in trouble, because the CinematicWindow class letterboxes the screen by calculating what a widescreen area "should" be given your current res...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
That site doesn't seem particularly well-organized. I see two files under Deus Ex, and they aren't even for the same game. At any rate, I'll worry about where to upload things after the mod's done, but thanks for the suggestion.

Re: DXOgg playing across level transitions
Just make sure, for the love of God, that the object in the entry map doesn't hold any object references across map transitions. That would be bad.

Re: Idea: Deus Ex continuity mod
- laser gun - I guess it would be similar to the plasma gun of DX1 I haven't played Human Revolution, but out of curiosity, how could a laser gun be anything remotely similar to the Deus Ex plasma gun? The plasma gun fires big, slow-moving blobs that blow up, which is pretty much antithetical to wh...

Re: DXOgg playing across level transitions
Basically I need to save the time and the file-name of the current track somewhere right before the old maps assets are destroyed, and then immedietly on the new maps load I need to read those saved things so I can start the music. Unfortunately, even if you did this there would be at least a small...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Electronics & Lockpicking: The pricing vs utility of these skills is totally wrong. AFAIK, the vast majority of players take these to trained and then thats it; for experienced players, the number of multitools & lockpicks available mean theres no reason to do otherwise, and there is no reason why ...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Random feedback on skills. Environmental training- the ability to switch off these items is really a big balance change. I think this skill is probably now too cheap, and could reasonably be increased to the same cost as demolitions. Medicine is still of very limited use- it could happily replace E...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Well, kind of. Deus Ex 2.0 doesn't have any of the fixes from this yet, although it may at some point in the future. Of course, some things are necessarily both fixes and balance changes. For example, it's kind of hard to fix bullet spread without balance being affected in some way. I'm not sure how...

Re: any fixes for these exploits?
I'm pretty sure Shifter, Human Renovation, and possibly Deus Ex 2.0 fix the lockpicking exploit.
The upcoming version of Human Renovation will fix grenade-climbing/jumping/clipping as well, although there will be an option to re-allow grenade-climbing since people seem to like it.

Re: Deus Ex map patch!!
Should the map patch or Hu Ren fix stuff that speedrunners use, like the UNATCO guy that runs out of HQ at Liberty Island if you toss a gas grenade outside the building. This one in particular is already fixed in my working version of Human Renovation, since gas grenades (and similar explosive effe...

Re: Deus Ex map patch!!
I like the railing. It should stay. If you raise the keypad via the computer and then approach it, will it toggle and lower the keypad or will it continue to stay up? It stays up just fine. The problem is that the computer doesn't raise the hatch covering the keypad stand, so the keypad stand just ...
