Re: Looking forward to this
Would love to see those old screenshots, if you can make them available somehow. Just out of curiosity of how the characters came to be.

Re: Looking forward to this
When you are going from character models that seem to consist of 20 polygons and a 64x64 texture to what HDTP promises to acchieve you will need some interpretation from the artists. There just isn't enough information present in the vanilla models to avoid that. So I see why for some this might dif...

Re: Looking forward to this
Agreed, some screens would be nice. Even if showing models we already know, I would love to see them in-game.
There will of course always be people complaining, that's the way it is. Don't see why any modder should get upset about a couple of trolls.

Re: The Human revolution thread, now with 233213% more spoil
Hm, yeah, could do that, then again, it somehow misses the point, doesn't it? I'm doing it in the hope that enough people are feeling the same way, it shows in the sales and we will get spared such stuff in the future. Too bad that it has to be DX3, off all games (and it even seems to be good). Edit...

Re: The Human revolution thread, now with 233213% more spoil
I'm still a bit reluctant to get the game, mostly because of this: In-game ads There was a lengthy discussion about it on the official boards, but no new info since release. Are the ads in? Have they decided not to do it in the last minute? Thing is, i decided not to support something like this, as ...

Re: Do bump mapping or parallax occlusion work?
I see, guess it were some old textures then? I have read somewhere that the renderer uses the detail textures for bumb mapping? Out of interest, can you point to some page where I can find some info about how to make the texture maps? I've done a few for Fallout New Vegas, but that's of course a dif...

Re: Do bump mapping or parallax occlusion work?
Ok, after playing a bit more with the new textures, it seems that it indeed works.
However, either the effect is rather subtle, or not all textures have it.
Anyway, with some surfaces you can see it.

Re: New Vision- Bug Reports
Could be actually caused by DX Enhanced, but after installing the fix all character potraits in the radio messages are displayed in a 2x2 grid at 1/4 size, so four portraits in total.
I've fixed it by simply deleting it again.

Re: DDL - read this
Why is it that there's always such an amount of dramatizing? The minute someone asks for some small update/screenshots/statement he's already a demanding asshole. On the other hand, some people really seem to feel entitled to get something and get it fast. But is it demanding (as in "give it to me a...

Re: Trying to uninstall turns DX green
What exactly did not work after installing New Vision? And how did you deinstall DirectX? You should leave DirectX on your pc, as almost every game uses it. Or are you referring to the additional renderers that came with the textures? The renderer is the first thing I'd check here, you can select wh...

Re: DDL - read this
I agree that posting a small something to look at every once in a while would be certainly a nice thing. Thing is, projects like this create some expectations in the audience. While the modders have every right to ignore that, a few small treats will probably prevent the worst flamewars and don't re...

Do bump mapping or parallax occlusion work?
Hello all!
As per title of the thread, with the New Vision textures (thanks for the great work!) and Kentie's D3D10 renderer, do the bump mapping and parallax occlusion settings do anything?
I don't see any real difference, neither in-game nor on comparison screenshots I took.
