I'll try and get a render posted in the public forums this week. I thought it was considered finished although I'll consult the boss about it :)

That is really rather jolly good :) I'll look forward to playing with some of those textures. Would you like a place to upload them?

I've got a nice surprise for everyone tomorrow...

You'll have to wait until Metche sees it before we call it finished. She has the final call on everything. I understand your frustration on the continual modifications and we all appreciate the work you're doing. Perhaps you should take a break from the gun for a bit and work on something else then ...

People will be more likely to help you once you've made a start and have something to show for it. If you're working on a classic and on a project that has a niche target or appeal then it's harder to recruit fellow modders. If you really want to do a Deus Ex mod why not assist one that's already ex...

It looks very cool :) I always feel really beardy using it because it's so good, especially with melee mods!

I can understand most of the points that have been raised in this "discussion" and why it's causing irritation. Discussion is healthy and Metche and I are open to suggestions from all of the team. In this instance the decision for or against will be decided by Metche when she gets back from holiday....

How cute :P My initial impressions when comparing the two models were that the new one looked a lot lighter than the old model. I don't know if that's a bad thing or not without seeing the new model in game. Making it darker might make the detail less obvious and not really add anything. After looki...

DDL wrote:... there should be a 'drawscale' property somewhere in the texture properties: this should reflect the difference in texture dimensions, so if your new texture is 256x256 and the old one was 64x64, put 0.25 here.
I think you are pretty much right ZB.

When I made the model I considered modelling the handles but decided to use simpler handles as a compromise between performance and aesthetics. Screenshots were posted and the team okayed the lower detail handles. The team did have rough poly limits for most deco models, I was just working to our po...

No, it's not something Metche and I have discussed at the moment. We've been concentrating on the textures/models side of the project. If we had volunteers that had an remastered track of the game then perhaps we would consider it. Otherwise I don't think we'll pursue it yet.

The mod boxes should be kept. I think it would be hard to spot some of the mods if you changed them to what they are. Some are hidden in very dark corners, so if they were not a bit bright and animated they'd be a bugger to see. Also, if you had mods for the smaller weapons then they'd be a bit smal...

I like ZB's posts. They are often cynical and offensive but at least they are well written and have some thought behind them. Many things could benefit from having a healthy amount of cynicism. It adds a bit of flavour to discussion, especially if people don't choose to take (too much) offense. Pers...

Heh, I'm studying Biochemistry at university but I've been spending some spare time as a Ranger and Zoo Keeper. I'm thinking about going back to lifeguarding for a time because the work was pretty nice along with the pay.

The statue will not be in the first release. I doubt it is something we will look at until we've finished all of the weapons and the character models. We still have the Area 51 textures but they will not be released at the moment or any time in the near future. All we are releasing in September are ...

Originally we did want to redo level textures and some were done a long, long time ago. It is something that we *may* revisit after we cover the models. Whilst we have tried to get many of the commonly seen objects in the game, there will still be a few notable absences which have not had our love (...
