Re: What are you playing?

CS:GO. Replaying Batman Arkham City so I can play Harley Quinn's Revenge. Doing these things very slowly because school's started and I live with a girl and have lots of homework and these things combine to give me very little time for gaming.

Re: What are you playing?

Battlefield 3. Lots of Battlefield 3. I want to get that indie horror game, Soul Survivor, but I sadly can't afford $10 right now.

Re: The lost internet communities thread

My very first forum was a 9/11 truther's forum, which I trolled the shit out of when I was 16. The owner himself was banned from Howard Stern's forums (I had no idea Stern had forums), prompting the creation of his, and so he refused to ban me, viewing that as censorship. Good times, good times.

Re: What are you playing?

You can also use the donor glyph to drop color on the ground, luring fireflies towards it, and you can grab them for free color as well. I am fairly certain they cover this in the "tutorial". The Void is cool, perhaps I should also replay it one of these days. It's entirely possible to miss parts o...

Re: What are you playing?

Wanted to show my girlfriend a game of artistic merit that wasn't about killing things, and ended up replaying The Void. I miss the "less difficult" fan patch I had last time I played this game. By default trees will stop sprouting color after three days (of steeply diminishing returns from when you...

Re: If you liked older Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, or SWAT gam

I played the Halo Reach demo and it was awful as a shooter. Just dogshit. The space combat part was much better, except they didn't put nearly enough effort into being able to see your environment/detect enemies. Not supporting anyone who'd brag about being part of that.

Re: What are you playing? Mass Effect 3 edition

See this is why text is a bad medium. :bioware: I wonder if it's actually possible to reach 100% WAR without multiplayer. It's apparently needed for the good endings. I played this game way too much today. Had two exams yesterday, and the next one isn't until monday, so I've basically spent the ent...

Re: What are you playing?

JSL & AEmer, is it possible that the behaviour of ++i and i++ varies from language to language? I mean, if JSL is claiming that where you put the plusses affects when in the "for loop" the increment happens, then maybe that's something that is specific to the language he's using? (Coz the internet ...

Re: What are you playing?

You should probably experiment with what you're claiming, before claiming it, then, if you're out of habit with fors. ;) I use them every day, because fors are pro imo, so I'm pretty sure with what I say.

Re: What are you playing?

Well, as far as I can see, you have a sharp lesser than in your clause which means i = array.length-1 would be rejected, so you don't get the last element. No, because the increment is at the start of the loop but after the logic check, typically. ++i makes the increment happen at the end of a loop...

Re: What are you playing?

Learning XNA. It's surprisingly easy to get something impressive right off the bat- within 30 minutes of starting to read tutorials, I had an un-animated sprite walking around a flat background in a window based on keyboard input. Getting beyond that is a bit rocky, however- there's been many revis...

Re: What are you playing?

I beat Alan Wake and its first DLC. I'll go back and play The Writer eventually, but the last third of the main campaign and The Signal really soured me. Alan Wake's gameplay just isn't that fun, and coupling Max Payne stylistic elements with unfun gameplay just makes the gameplay even worse, like i...

Re: What are you playing?

I haven't really used WPF yet, so I'm interested in the result. Are you using xaml, or are you generating everything from code? A bit of both. I have xaml defining the basic layout of the main window- where the canvas is (the canvas is the graphical element I draw the board on), where the button is...
