It's been pretty good, but I get downright creeped out everytime I play. It's hard to handle. I just made my way into the tech museum and got the dish to put on the monument. I hope I'm on the right track. I don't really have any other places to go, really, other than some place south of where I am,...

I was wondering the same question as the OP when I visited this site. You guys are great, doing so much work and being so damn clever. Good luck, and I'll be watching you.

Heh, well, you guys gave it a good effort there, an admirable one, even, and thanks to the ever-diligent modding community, we'll eventually get there. This new HDTP release is definitely something to look forward to, not just for the in-game benefits, but for the modding community as well.

The noise makes it look like you did that in the Indigo renderer, but didn't put enough time towards getting a more defined picture or better settings. :P

The Indigo renderer rocks your socks.

I decided to pick Deus Ex up again. I wanted to get the most out of my gaming experience, so I looked this OpenGL renderer up. Man, this thing is sweet, that's all I got to say. It's practically half the HDTP/Nameless Mod project right there! But, the textures definitely need to be done. Get crackin...

No one here knows this, but the original reason I got involved in OpenFrag was because it would eventually help me to create a game concept I've been working on for... over a year now. It's a game very similar to Deus Ex. I'm not about to plug my game concept in this thread, though. :)

It helps to be diplomatic about the matter. Maybe I was just lucky, but perhaps in how I phrased the post and also how much work we've already put into our project helped to get a rather positive response. Remember this thread?

Steam-Driven Dreams: The Wondrously Whimsical World of Steampunk http://www.wired.com/gadgets/mods/multimedia/2007/06/gallery_steampunk?slide=1&slideView=7 The nerdiest thing would be to actually make a clockwork computer (which would probably amount to a clockwork calculator.) The easiest way to make the Geo Mod is use the Paralax Mapping or what ever the proper term is, that should let you make holes in things and do it pretty efficiently. Parallax Mapping is just a texture technique. It won't affect the actual geometry of the map, which is what we're all talking about....

Apparently, deformable terrain is difficult, even today.

I'm not really sure why that is, though. I've heard explanations concerning voxels, but... Why can't they just use some sort of model/mesh editing engine within the game?

What kind of Scene Manager are you using? Are you considering either the Portal/Cell/Zone manager, or WorldMinion? None of Ogre's out-of-the-box managers really cut it for what you're doing. Also, what about asset editors; ie materials, particle systems, overlays, GUIs, etc? Just curious because it...
