Re: The Annoying Music Thread

What you guys are after is the epic 22-minute Most Unwanted Song, which is apparently a scientific attempt to create the most annoying tune ever. Personally I'm unconvinced, but I have a pretty high tolerance for bad music.

The opera singer rapping over accordions is pretty neat, though.

Re: W00t Finaly done with Project 2!

Very nice, you managed to recreate it very accurately. I get the impression that you're not sure what part of game design to focus on, and are at the stage of trying everything out? If this is the case, I wouldn't bother with more Max fundamentals; it looks like you know what you're doing, and skill...

Re: What are you playing?

They should never have put any stealth into Dark Messiah. Combat is the whole point of the game, and it's mostly brilliantly implemented, so why distract from this by putting a half-arsed stealth system in? I get rather frustrated by Dark Messiah. Such great gameplay, but such uninspiring settings (...

Haha, no it's not (the station is just a little north).

And while I'm at it, if you scroll a little further north, you'll see some tennis courts that have been in the news recently!

Re: Things that are awesome about your local area.

It was my persistent bomb threats that got DX3 green-lighted in the first place.

TNM didn't have enough ragga jungle or electro-medieval for my liking.

Re: First Impressions

Really enjoying the mod so far! Like half the population of the planet (it seems) I had kept clear of it during development due to worries that it was a big self-insertion-injoke lovefest, but that's mostly not true I'm very pleased to see. In fact, I find the world very surreal, which I love. Level...

Re: Board Games

It's the orange properties that offer the best cost/rent ratio, once you start building houses on those, you've basically won. What Jonas says is pretty spot on, the mechanics are a terrible mess. Not strictly a board game, but Mah Jongg is wonderful. The game is mostly luck, but somehow you don't c...

Re: Board Games

Stratego is awesome fun, I played a really old French version called L'Attaque , which was essentially the same, but without the water channels. I'm currently addicted to a computer version of Risk, which passes the time between banging my head against the keyboard crying about render textures. Oh, ...

lol The Deus Ex Code I'm glad it's a prequel. It negates the need to tie together multiple endings from the previous game (which hamstrung IW to an extent), and also puts as much distance between itself and IW as possible. Furthermore, hopefully it will be a lot of a fun to see how things unfolded, ...

The DirectX10 API was pretty horrible, much like DX8's. It sounds like DX11 won't really have many more features, but will be a lot easier to code with. That said, I reckon GL and DX's days are numbered. We've already got CUDA and co. which let you directly program the GPU, it's only a matter of tim...
