Re: GMDX Advancement Mod v6.2 Release
I played it a few months ago and thought it was really good. However I'm not sure how much longer your mod will get played since Revision is due for a release soon.

Plenty of trivia, stories etc about the game and LGS in gene...

Re: REFLEX - a new, fast-paced arena FPS
You're right in pointing that out Jonas - it's a very abstract and very pure style of video game. This is in large part due to the agency of Quake players (by that I mean players of all games in the series). With regards to the player movement (very fast and involving a whole host of map-specific tr...

REFLEX - a new, fast-paced arena FPS
Hi there, I’m here to shamelessly plug an in-development game which I have no affiliation with, but am extremely passionate about (and with good reason). If you’re a fan of first-person shooters of the more traditional, faster sort (such as DOOM, QUAKE or Unreal Tournament) then this game is for you...

Re: What are you playing?
Yeah The Fall was an unfortunate little money-grab, which turned into a complete farce when they released it on PC. I'm still playing Quake (in its various iterations), and CS:GO casually. There are a number of arena shooters in development, which I'm very excited about: http://www.esreality.com/pos...

Re: GMDX (update: v6 released)
I have almost no problem with game exploits - if you can do it then you should. Strictly from the player's perspective, I don't differentiate between aspects of the gameplay intended to be there by the designer, and those that are not. Exploits are, in my opinion, is a crucial part of video games be...

Re: Hilarious Deus Ex Speedrun (AGDQ 2014)
If you're a DX fan you'll love this (I did). Hate: -Deus Ex being speedran, just something about that makes me a little depressed. You miss everything that makes Deus Ex great by speedrunning it. Of course the guy clearly knew his Deus Ex, but I still don't like the idea of DX being speedran. It's ...

That's not true but such a minor topic is not worth arguing aboutG-Flex wrote:Oh. Seriously though, above 60Hz you're seeing incredibly diminishing returns anyway.

Re: Emulating PS2 Deus Ex - The Conspiracy
The thing that sucks is that you cannot increase the framerate on a PS2 (and therefore the emulator) without increasing the gamespeed at the same time, so I'm stuck on 60fps :(. 60FPS is all that's going to really make a difference in practice anyway. Most monitors still only operate at 60Hz, even....

Re: What are you playing?
Playing The Dark Mod. It's the best single-player game I've played in a while. It not only gives Thief a graphical update but actually makes the gameplay more interesting with little things like the physics (rotating/pushing and pulling objects) and the lockpicking 'game', amongst other things. You ...

Re: What are you playing?
Now I'm quietly playing through Gelo's mission for The Dark Mod, Requiem. It's very good so far. Very good. In general, I'm pretty blown away by how well The Dark Mod has managed to replicate the aesthetics and the feel of Thief 2. Even with vastly enhanced graphics and detailed physics and so on, ...
