Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
The guy behind that video, mkaelus, is very much aware of GMDX, he's recommended it several times and even made a trailer of sorts for it. If you think that's a good idea, you could try requesting him to do it. He probably won't agree though, especially since a gag is less effective if reused with f...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
I always thought the original's stealth pistol wasn't so much an attempt at realism as it was a homage to the Seboru CX from Ghost in the Shell: http://appleseed.wikia.com/wiki/Seburo_Compact-eXploder. That being said, the part about the integral silencer was intentionally added to provide for weapo...

Intentional. They're blank datacubes that hint at them being regular devices that people use in this world, and not just exposition items. Think of them like say, a blank notepad in today's world.Bogie wrote: Also, some datacubes are missing text. I'm not sure whether this is intentional or not.

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
Claims of damage values being too high: like I said they're the same as realistic, which itself is less than vanilla. Regarding this, I would check if there's a hidden variable being applied to raise damage on Hardcore. I remember you saying that Hardcore mode has a different CombatDifficulty value...

Re: "Error, Can't Find Sound (insert sound here)"
Providing the DeusExPlayer file could help. I checked the original's code, and that sound file is referenced through some function in DeusExRootWindow, so try checking that too.

Mapping question
I know that Deus Ex mapping is more or less dead at this point, but I want to clarify a doubt I have. In the first Area 51 level, you can see two curved passages at the entrance to the bunker. Is it possible to make this using vertex manipulation, and what's the ideal way to do so? I took an image o...

How is ammo from grenades handled in Deus Ex?
I'm trying to increase the number of grenades a player gets upon increasing his/her demolition skill. However, neither did editing DeusExWeapon or the respective ammo classes worked. From what I see, it seems grenade "ammo" is handled differently from other weapons since while they have an ammo clas...

Re: 1st person animations for Deus Ex with Blender
You could try contacting WCCC, he's active on ModDB and he imported some new animations in. He's the main person behind Hatchet.

Re: GMDX v8.0 Release Date Revealed
Good to see that some artist is finally contributing for you. Hopefully this means that you'll finally be able to get atleast some of the things you wished for. As for this mod's vision, I thought it was basically to expand upon the gameplay and mechanics of the original game and polish them while f...

Re: GMDX v8.0 Release Date Revealed
The ModDB MOTY awards started yesterday. I request that anyone still on this forum vote for GMDX. It's unlikely that GMDX will win big but hopefully getting past some rounds will get it more recognition. You can vote for the mod from its ModDB page if you have an account there: http://www.moddb.com/...

Re: The Nameless Mod's setting
The setting is comparitively unique, but from what I've seen of reactions that's not the main draw of the mod. The main draw is stuff like the story, the flexible story choices given that succeed in providing an illusion of great choice and a lot of player reactivity, the humour, the quirks in the l...

The Nameless Mod's setting
This is just about an interesting(I think) observation I made about The Nameless Mod's setting. Initially I was put off downloading TNM, like quite a few others, because of how the setting sounded. However, after reading a few good recommendations of it I decided to play it. I noticed that ultimatel...

Re: Stylization vs Detail (continued for the Revision thread
Don't worry, I'm sure this time if news websites report on the v8 release, it will get a fair amount of fame. So far what has been driving people away from it was how it gave the impression of being a mod oriented towards a hardcore Deus Ex fanbase I feel. All that should change now as you've starte...

Re: Stylization vs Detail (continued for the Revision thread
So what are you even trying to say? That Wincen is lying because not many people share such an extreme opinion of the mod(even though going by Steam reviews, the most popular outlet for this mod, it got a comparitively mixed reception when compared to stuff like highly anticipated games or even mods...
