Should've totally called it that.
I'd be happy to licence my new trademark, should Gerald come on earth a second time to spread his Melk™ and the word of 00n.

Re: I was pokemon

Yeah, Ash is 10 years old IIRC in the cartoon. There's some honestly funny bits, but I'm watching for nostalgia, and only the first season. The show is repetitive, predictable, and they've used distractingly cheap animation shortcuts in every scene. It performed its function -- kids memorized pokemo...

I was pokemon

Hey, I'm getting into Pokemon again, maybe. What game do I want to play? -- Nintendo targeted Pokemon Blue/Red at people younger than me, but I was hyped about it before it was released here, even taped the cartoon, and walked with a poketamagochi. When newer games came out, I was out of the trend. ...

Re: Deus Ex 3 - I'll just leave this here

Pretty sure the license you buy is for the specific copy of the game, not any one copy. And making backups is often expressivly forbidden under the EULA(the case of whether or not the EULA is legally binding is a whole other topic though). Personally I think all laws regarding software could use so...

Re: Deus Ex 3 - I'll just leave this here

This is my main issue with HR: it's all trying to be deep and complex and intelligent, and it doesn't work. The symbolism is obvious, there's historical errors and the mech inconsistencies. I am annoyed by how obviously they tried to make HR intelligent, and how badly they failed It does smell of p...

Oh, good point. Yeah, the same graffiti tag showing up across the world's payphones would be stupid.

Re: Map Requests

Sweet. Can some graffiti be thrown on? Maybe a little rust? Just ideas, looks good already.

Re: Map Requests

Thanks for fixing the tire. It's oddly been a big issue for me. DX's ugly "tire" is a flawed representation of an inaccurate interpretation of how a tire looks. Even octagonal tires wouldn't look that crap. Immersion can snap like a twig when game renderings casually violate reality, like a square s...

Re: What is your favourite cult ?

I don't like cults. Minor spoelirs ahead. The Gotas had an impressive compound, but it was built on the suffering of society. The Llamos at least kept their crazy underground. Fortunately, on my Kill Everyone run, I was able to destroy the Limas, then eliminate every Goats from the downtown to the S...

S3 Texture Compression (S3TC) (sometimes also called DXTn or DXTC) is a group of related lossy texture compression algorithms originally developed by Iourcha et al. of S3 Graphics, Ltd. [1] for use in their Savage 3D computer graphics accelerator. Oh good, we're playing DX with the latest in graphi...

Re: Secret Deus Ex Conversations

Yeah, secret conversation, but not disabled. With Gunther in Battery Park, the devs were clearly concerned about the player getting around Gunther; there's barricades and locked hatches everywhere. If you go to the helicopter, you can't escape anyway. I mentioned earlier, it's possible to trick Gunt...

The new Stoneage Drip Coffee Machine. Totally believable. I'm certain that's with New Vision and using a stone texture, since I remember it being just gray.

Re: Map Requests

Huh, a bench that looks like a bench, rather than a collection of rectangles growing from the ground. And another Edison brown gaslight replaced with a Daylight lamp fixture. I just looked through the visual walkthrough, looking for that granite coffee-maker (sculpted from the countertop it was on),...

Re: Mapper Needed

Sounds proof enough for me. Game patching isn't a high priority post-release. I don't know what sort of versioning system they were using over a decade ago, if any, but git or subversion would prevent that kind of mistake. It's part of the reason I think mod projects should take advantage of github....
