That WWII mod looks hot.
However, I'm on dialup and multiplayer is not an option for me. I will have to check it out when single player becomes available.

OK, thanks! I did some thinking, and I just dropped a link to the first page of this topic with a little disclaimer. The mods in my "other mods" section I've tried and have something to say about. I didn't really feel like testing all the other mods, and I didn't want to have a list of stuff I knew ...

Here's one more
You have a mighty fine list of mods available, but will you index a tweak of a mod? I loved what Shifter did for Deus Ex, but it did not do a few things I was looking to fix - such as increase the ammo caps (through the roof), let you shoot underwater, etc. I asked and received permission from Shift...

You replaced the entire function in Deusexplayer, right? No... *hangs head in shame* I thought that if I just nicked this bit: // Smoke39 - check really far (sniper rifle max range) if we have remote computer access if ( AugmentationSystem.GetClassLevel(class'AugDatalink') > 0 ) EndTrace = StartTra...

Found it, copied the relevant code over. Thanks! Two problems. First, it can't be the only place it's done, because JC still needs to be right next to a computer to frob it at aug level 2. Second and less important, on the aug screen it doesn't look like Datalink is upgradeable. In Smoke's mod you c...

No... or at least not that I saw. I'm using a file-comparison tool called WinMerge to try to help, but I'm not finding anything. If you could check, that'd be great, especially if you know more about this stuff than I do. I would think there would be one variable somewhere which would tell how close...

How does Smoke's mod do the upgradeable Datalink?
I'm working on a tweak on Shifter, and there's a couple features I want from the Smoke mod, most importantly the upgradeable Datalink. I've unpacked the latest Shifter and made my changes - mostly for the purpose of taking a little realism away, adding a little fun. Ammo caps are through the roof, a...

I have a better Deus Ex icon I'd like to submit
See for yourself: http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/8033/dxiconsqg7.jpg I don't know where to host .ICO files, but I will email it to anyone who wants it. Just send me a request at darkreality@gmail.com. It's 8KB or so, so though I'm on Dialup I won't mind sending it off to a few people. Note that ...

Well... I'm a Trekkie, and I think a Holodeck port of UT would be much more realistic than what you guys are proposing. As far fetched as Star Trek is, even they wouldn't have the technology to resurrect you after each death, especially if you were hit by an explosive weapon. If there were a Holodec...

All of em, except where a new feature added by Smoke directly conflicts with a new feature added by Shifter - in which case a choice would have to be made as to which feature to keep. AFAIK there aren't any conflicts; you'd have to work with Yuki on that. No one knows Smoke more than you and no one ...

Well, I couldn't figure it out... I'll mess with it when I get going with the new Smoke mod. Collaborate how? By that I mean combine features. Obviously some would conflict, so some features from each would have to go, but I think, from what I've read on GameFAQs, there is an interest in using both ...

This may be a little above what I know about the code, but what if, in addition to the release, HDTP have some file which basically has all the code and where it's added/changed, and Yuki do the same with Shifter - is it possible, in this way, to merge the two mods, on a dynamic and ongoing basis? I...

Smoke39, the jumping problem I experienced would not allow me to proceed past the rooftops part of the NSF Generator mission. I got to one of the rooftops, and because I couldn't jump as high, I was literally stuck. There's only one without steps, and with the old Smoke mod (0.1 I think) one would h...

HDTP and Shifter
I'm here on behalf of the GameFAQs board for Deus Ex; we would like to know how, if at all, HDTP will affect Shifter, a mod popular in our community. From Shifter's author Yukichigai: It all hinges on whether or not HDTP replaces any of the elements within DeusEx.u. If it requires overwriting DeusEx...
