Re: What are you playing?

Looks like .net framework at least, but you can't tell the language from a screenshot. I expected the button 'draw card' to be called 'throw dice' but then again I have no idea what you're going for here :)

Re: Story in games

Whats your point? The half life 1 intro (can't remember 2) was unskippable and completely non-interactive (unless you count walking around in a box as interaction). As such, it does not meet your criteria: It'd be completely skippable, but it'd be an actual interactive thing? I liked the HL1 intro,...

Re: Doouble Fine's new adventure

I absolutely agree that if this was a random indie studio, I probably wouldn't have contributed. If it was a game of any other genre, I probably wouldn't have contributed. Although I agree that anything that puts money in the hands of developers instead of publishers is a step in a good direction, I...

Re: "Warren Spector getting Lifetime Achievement award at GD

Someone should summarize this thread for me, sparing no detail or ugly rumour that may be have been cast in an effort to discredit. Different points of view. In games and in discussions. The End Is that the beginning, middle and end? Was there a crisis moment? That pretty much sums it all up, there...

Re: What are you playing?

Clearly, OpenTTD is the best game to play in a case like this. Where it doesn't really matter when you enter, as long as the server is running. I'd argue it's the best game to play in all cases where you have a mouse and keyboard available and a computer that runs OpenTTD. That said, I think I playe...

By "manual viewport management", do you mean like OpenTTD style?

Re: What are you playing?

I have recently started watching some LoL games on youtube with commentary, it is surprisingly fun to watch considering that I never played the game at all.

The patch is also just an executable zip file, so you may be able to unpack it using winrar and simply copy/pasting everything yourself.

Re: HDTP - Release 1: Troubleshooting FAQ

Can you verify that the HDTP shortcut actually points to the right directory? Perhaps it is an artifact from your previous installation, and points at an old directory?

Re: The Happy Birthday Thread

I vaguely remember thinking 25 was 'old', now I am older and think 40 is sort of old.

Also, I agree that you're all assholes, except Bobby.

I wonder where the notion of birthdays comes from, when was it introduced. Is it a cultural thing?

Re: Deus Ex with a 360 controller

If by that you mean that there is only 1 and 0 and nothing in between (as in: you either move, or do not move, always at the same speed), it does certainly look that way but I haven't tried (I haven't used a joystick since the Amiga days). Not worse than using some third party keymapping software th...
