Re: What are you playing?
Wasn't what made GTA fun "doing dumb shit, usually in cars"? No not at all. Well, some played it that way, I remember an old gf of mine- she used to just drive around sticking to laws- stopping at traffic lights, staying within the speed limit etc. That was ALL she would do. Strange thing was, it w...

Re: Renderer Problem or...?
'Saturated'? Do you mean the gradient between light/shadow looks crap?
That's a general problem with the resolution/bit-depth of the lightmaps Deus Ex generates. Unfortunately there's no way to improve it, as far as I'm aware - Kentie looked into it at some point and came to the same conclusion.

Re: Game concept
I'm not sure how much of that would factor into the main game I want to make, Aemer; I mostly like the idea of using Charon and greek mythology because it's awesome. If I were to bring that in, though, I'd to it properly - not just name the antagonist Charon and have done with it. Currently, I'm mor...

Re: What are you playing?
@Dave: do you mean the IW environments were a better example of unrealistic cyberpunk or an example of good, believable environments? In any case, I thought it was woefully unbelievable. Cities built on top of other cities is (besides overused) also highly unlikely, unless there is total anarchy do...

Re: What are you playing?
And then there's the fact that it hasn't just become cliché; it was never any good to begin with. It looks like the kind of sci-fi where stuff looks the way they look because it looks cool, not because the designers put much thought (at least beyond finding a bad excuse) into why anybody, ever, wou...

Re: What are you playing?
In their defence it's based on Cyberpunk 2020, which is a really old tabletop RPG system - so, basically, it wasn't cliché back then. It's a bit like calling Lord of the Rings a clichéd fantasy world. But this type of Cyberpunk has been done time and time again, so even if it's based on something t...

Re: What are you playing?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=P99qJGrPNLs Well, this looks interesting. A friend has just posted this on Twitter. Admittedly, It's a CGI trailer but it could be pretty good. A nicely made trailer, but the story sounds painfully generic (and 'meatbags' - really?) so all th...

Re: Game concept
The bake didn't turn out very well , I'm still trying to get a hang of next gen stuff. I have tried Miasmata but I really couldn't get into it - their heart was in the right place, but in practice I think the game is terrible. Their custom engine that runs on par with CryEngine at high settings on m...

Re: What are you playing?
The poster is a standard New Vision texture, the original was illegible. Finished Far Cry 3. The ending choice almost wasn't a no-brainer. Almost. Really? Seemed like a no-brainer to me, if you were playing the game seriously. The entire game is about saving your friends and your choice is to murder...

Re: It's done.
Don't think I did, no. I fixed alignment issues in Hong Kong Street (but mostly included it because of the bug fixes, e.g the statue door in Maggie Chow's place), changed the floor texture in the Lucky Money club, changed the AI texture in Everett's house, and included the fixed 'Return to NY' map s...

Re: It's done.
I said it was done when I released it. The title of this topic is even 'It's done' - the time for these requests was in the thread leading up to the release. I've released the basic files required if someone wanted to do the rest of the textures (about 5-10%) but I'm not going to.
