That's what you get with slashdot comments, lots of wasted time. Useless comments are (usually) modded down, so they don't appear unless you click or change the viewing settings. Back when I paid more attention to slashdot, there wasn't AJAX, but it probably uses it now (/. is so Web 2.0). I like Alterslash since it's a digest, and it includes the highest rated comments, so I can quickly scan the stories in RSS, check anything interesting, and read the +5 Informative comment that says "The blurb summary totally contradicts the actual story it links to. The point they're making is that zebras' stripes DO NOT encourage packet loss over 802.11 using CentOS in Mars' atmosphere." etc.

The newest issue of PC Gamer sweden mentioned TNM, Didn't say much except that has an insane amount of dialogue and is about as good as the original DX. (as a sidenote they put DX at number 4 greatest PC game ever, which is one spot higher than Half-Life 2)

WTB translation.

Though the fact that they didn't realise our development team is called Off Topic Production does not bode well.

The premiere of this mod was a surprise - probably even for its authors. Originally small project of some forum's members, it quickly assumed gigantic proportions.

Eight years have passed since the premiere of Deus Ex - the authors' eagerness amazes even more. They have created something that can practically compete with original game: over a gigabyte of content, around 20 hours of fun and - thanks to a few tricks - the game oriented towards multiple playthroughs. For the fans of the original: a bombshell!

Deus Ex 2.0?
Even creators' clues on the mod's complexity are impressing: the guys bothered to record over 14 hours of audio, what is apparent even in the beginning - in a modified tutorial, which painlessly introduces a few interesting novelties. For example, we can mention multiple firing modes or more accessible augmentation management - one of the best Deus Ex features. Of course, there are much more innovations: starting with greater influence on our hero's appearance, through largely expanded set of weapons (20 kinds, some of whom are not available on the first playthrough!), and ending with a myriad of items - completely new and old which here can be used, e.g. to prepare Molotov cocktails. After a few whiles with the mod you can have an impression that Deus Ex should look like this from the beginning.

Internet agent
Fans of the original shouldn't be disappointed when it comes to the story, either. The summary of the mod's plot is trivial: save the world. Only and as much [idiom]. You are former intelligence agent and try to save Forum City, which plunges into chaos and spam after the Moderator's disappearance. Maybe it sounds silly but it has a peculiar cyberpunk style. It ought to be noted, that the game is filled with allusions, which may be funny but they sometimes can cause it to lose tension. Anyway, I recommend this mod. Especially considering that The Nameless Mod works with no problems with the version of Deus Ex included in the 100th issue of CD-Action.

It's the RPGCodex. Whatd'ya expect.

They probably couldn't see the second coming of PS:T, even if it fall into their lap (even if they desire it's coming).

I think that while they do enjoy a things, they just tend to be more vocal about the parts of those things that they *don't* enjoy. Best to take it all with a grain of salt.

Actually I thought the best comment was the guy who thought the SHODAN parody sucked because all of the in-crowd reference jokes, while I am pretty sure all of them are taken from movies/games and even a philosopher!

If you are going to look for them, while not knowing them, and account everything than to them no wonder you think the project is filled with them... #-o
