Note to self: Doing Pointman's job in his absense, I have mailed Compudoc and Mole to ask if they are ready to record their own lines. I couldn't get a hold of Pimp-Jojo, I'll try again tomorrow, and if I fail, his part is going to Gelo Fleischer.

I sent Fender2k1 his lines over MSN. I changed the VADB status of the lines accordingly.

I also asked Mike Arthur to record one of AO's lines to see if he'll fill the role well. I have a feeling he will, even if the real AO doesn't have a British accent. There's just something right about a bartender with a British accent.

Tomorrow, I will attempt to contact Dreamcast, Illuminati, and Tangy. I have a feeling that last one will be particularly difficult, but then Bristol Ben may fit the part nicely in Tangy's absense.

Last note: ZP said he'll try to record the businessman lines I assigned him as soon as his cold wears off.

kthxbye

Jonas, I'll try and wake up at 9am tomorrow (ie: 4pm your time). Then I'll have about an hour to talk about voice acting and such before I go study.

Mike has been informed that he got the role of Alpha Operator, I have yet to send him his lines however. Mole has added me to his contact list in reply to my mail, and I have sent him the script for his character. No word from Compudoc yet, and I have no idea how to get a hold of Pimp-Jojo. I may just send his lines to Gelo soon.

Your lines aren't done yet.

Gelo is the new voice manager. Let's give him a hand.

I just uploaded Pimp-JoJo's full audio to the FTP site (under the "Pointman") folder. They still need to be aproved by Jonas though...

Downloaded the lines, I shall listen to them in a second:)

I setup your audio tracker account:

http://tnm.offtopicproductions.com/audiotracker/

Use your FTP login/password.

You'll probably want to create your own FTP folder to use for organizing lines and just copy the stuff over from Pointy's folder.

Or alternately delete the voice acting folder and rename Pointman's folder to that.

**Rattles Cage**

Well sorry for the absence. Long story short I got sidetracked and such and I'm going to be doing as much as I can before I end up having to go.

Anyway ffinals are almost over. My final for yesterday (thursday) was cancelled because of the snow and moved to Monday but meh, I still have time regardless now.

http://tnm.offtopicproductions.com/Keff ... eFiles.zip

There are the "SDAWG 1-3" files also known as ThatGuy once you open them. I'll be working on "TAMDOG 1-2" next. Let me know if you see (or hear rather) any problems. I'll be happy to go back and re-edit any that I may of messed up. I should warn you... before working on these I was a bit tired and since I don't drink coffee, I tried my hand at making Grog.

I am a pirate you know. And for those who are interested...

1 1/2 oz rum
1 tsp powdered sugar
1/2 oz lemon juice
hot water

That's what 'ye be needin' for some goo' ol' grog.

Bah, enough of my rambling! This isn't a news post!

Wow, I'd forgotten you existed, and now you return with lines and grog!

Okay, these are good, although the volume seems a bit low so I have to turn up the volume to hear them properly, and then some of them have a distinctive hum.

Do these fall within the RMS scale?

Could someone clear up for me if the RMS scale is specific enough, or do we need to have some sort of voice acting "normal speech volume" clip? I have a fear that every character is going to end up with speech at different volumes.

Having a speech clip to base things off of probably will help a lot (for me anyway). I can go back and have the files I did get matched up a lot closer that way.

EDIT:: Looking back on them I think the hum came from the way I converted them from WAV to MP3. I'll check my wav versions for the hum when the volume is turned up.

Okay, Leo says that the RMS scale, which he explained here:

viewtopic.php?t=220&start=15

(the scale for voice acting is on the first page of this topic)

Should be specific enough to properly outline the volume for voice acting. However, if you'd also like a benchmark file, I've pulled one from Deus Ex. This is basically the standard volume for all the files:
