Alpha 1.5.0 Released

Post by Trestkon »

I figured this deserved it's own thread.

It should be noted that this Alpha is likely to be suffering some showstopping bugs atm, due to the fact that it's hard to test it until we actually compile it. Testing is also difficult when none of our timezones align properly:p

We'll just fix the horrible bugs and upload new versions as we go. And of course we'll upload the fixed inividual files and link to them here so people don't have to re-download all 100mb o_0

Special Note for Jonas: I added in a Goat City, but didn't have time to set it up properly, and my triggers don't seem to be working for the setting of the Melk draining quest flag. Also, I tried to test the DT infolink thing, however, I just now realised that I was testing the wrong thing altogether (I just waited for him to invite me into the temple, and not give me a mission) and I feel dumb o_0 Also, Zerohero drawing a map on a napkin is the most brilliant thing ever. The way the animation plays and the fact that the datavault image looks amazing makes the whole thing ridiculously fantastic:D

The Nameless Mod Alpha 1.5.0 (96.1mb or so, should be active about 20 minutes after this is posted)

Heh, I predict an A151 release soon. I'm not at home right now, so I can't actually see how much of this made it into the alpha, but off the top of my head, here are things I did not have time to test/implement yesterday:
  1. I think picking up the subway pass doesn't set HAS_SubwayPass=True, which means you can't enter the subway at all (frick! )
  2. DT doesn't ask you to meet him in the voodoo shop when you've talked to Abom (which means you can't find Goat City if you don't know where it is >_<).
  3. I didn't place the spawn point for your weapons after Phas takes them away from you... I'm not sure what this will result in.
  4. The entire Drain The Melk mission remains unimplemented.
  5. The Llamas and the Goats don't turn hostile when they should.
All in all... a playthrough would've helped, I think :?

Still, it's a step in the right direction:p

For any people wanting to get on the subway, just type 'legend' to get into the legend cheat menu and create a 'HAS_SubwayPass' flag that's set to True.

Also to go in the instructions for testing. Look at the bugtracker. Report all bugs there but also verify that existing bugs marked as fixed but untested work.

Okay Shane, these are the package versions that went into the alpha:

TNM: v0.38
TNMItems: v0.35
TNMDeco: v0.47

Which as far as I can see is the latest version of everything. I may have been tired, but at least I was conscious enough :P

having compared the contents of tnm.u in the alpha and the tnm.u I am currently running, there are a lot of differences in the files. This may be due to differences in the compilation, though that would be dodgy. It's far more likely to be due to modifications made to the contents of the package. I think I may have made a few minor changes since 0.38 but doubtfully enough to account for the amount of difference I saw in the files. Is it possible that you downloaded 0.38 and never unzipped it?

That's possible, but I'm approximately 99,5% certain that I DID unzip it. And I clearly remember recompiling everything before sending it to Trest.

Redd, man, you've been telling us that you have more material for about half a year now. Don't you think it's about time to upload some of all those tracks you've been making? ;)

Mmm, it seems Redd didn't get to uploading those maps.

Here's the newest Goat City, DXI_FrontEnd and Slums that I have. Goat City is half pathed.
