Is it really such a big issue? I thought (due to the movies, and the alpha they released) that they had the models/textures/levels under control.

Jonas: if you get a chance, look at maps from unreal 2 or pariah (you'd have to buy unreal 2 or pariah for this, mind..and I don't recommend it ). Seriously: it's like subtracted cube, subtracted cube, terrain info, staticmesh*456.
Maybe (MAYBE) a semisolid or two in there to block progress past certain points, but that's it.
 It's weird.

Sorry, not going to read the above posts fully, but I'd just like to reiterate: Don't buy Pariah.

DXR and NV are working closely together with this issue. Whilst I can't confirm that we are going to do it.. it definately looks promising thats really all I can say because its too early. But it is planed so we'll see.
and for the 11,000th time yes HDTP and NV will work in DX:R. Jeez we need an FAQ (we should add this to the ModDB profile.. I'll add it right now)

That would probably be the biggest accomplishment in modding since CS

Well thanks to DX:R we're closer than before. They've got the right idea all they need is the content which HDTP and NV will be providing. I'd like to see it even suparse Iwar's technology which is do-able once we reach UT3 standards. (if we ever get there though)
Good luck DX:R

Well it'll be more stable than IWar thats for sure (at the UT2004 level) because we know how stable UT2004 is vs IWar and that our technology is really good now so thats not an issue with the exception of those Old-Techies that haven't updated their hardware since Deus Ex 1 first came out lol

Hahaha, don't expect this to be done anytime soon. On the surface we've made lots of progress but in real tems we've done about 2% of the textures. Maximum. There's about 2,200 textures in Deus Ex!
Also I never had stability problems with IW Cyber

Neither have I but most people have had that happen (usually happens on Geforce 6 and lower cards)

Not sure where this quote came from, Cyber:
It's a bit of a concern if we want to use all of the nice shader effects in UT2004 - because it would require 2 sets of packages. I think we might have to go for a purely UT2004 one (since you can pick up a copy of UT2004 cheap now) simply for it's graphical capabilities.
On another note I've got a copy of DXR with the Silhouette shadow system so I'll be able to test out the textures and post some screenshots with that soon!

Are there any plans to release some of these textures soon, or are you planning to wait until you've made more significant progress, or completed the whole package?
