Ok, so I've decided to make a topic for the Hong Kong textures. So, to start it off here's a screenshot of some of the new HK_Signs textures (the ones before were half the size they should be!):

I've added a border like the one in the distance to the close-up one after making this.

New sign, but the wall textures have been shown before. But it's still nice :)

The Chinese text layers are still modifiable so should we figure out a way of keeping the original text we can do that easily :)

That part of the news stand is about a preying mantis playing space invaders, while the top character is about a samurai talking with a parrot for news.

Ok, maybe not a samurai, but either a monk armed with a sword, or a three-triangle military general.

Signs looking good :)

I love the police signs. The entire picture could be taken from a cool anime-movie, very stylish. The signs look good for what you want them to be but I feel still sorry for them not being neon-signs. (Don't wanna bring that up again, it's just the explanation for me not going crazy about them.)

Well, giant digital signs make no sense whatsoever, let alone ones that have a scanline effect that doesn't even exist in the digital world - unless it's either intentionally faked or the image is too large and is scaled down. Like running 1600X1200 on a 1680X1050 monitor - it stretches it down vertically producing scanlines. But this, again, makes no sense to happen. The bottom line is that in real WanChai, they're lightboxes. I have no idea why Ion Storm shoved scanlines on them, just like they did with everything else such as small buttons. It just makes no sense.

Anyway, here's a new brick texture for Hong Kong. The original retextured one didn't look that much in-tune with the environment, but I think this one is far more accurate.

Yeah, keep churning out those textures! :lol:

BTW, what is Texture "None" 1/1 mean on the progress bar? Is that cuze you don't know what to call it of DeusEx have it as the "none" texture.

Amazing work, Snipa! But don't go dissing the DX scanlines too much, it's a question of style ;)

Fixed it, it was a random "FTP QUOTA" file that got wrongly recognised as a texture.

Btw, to those interested in seeing the actual textures, I compiled this little thing so I could show it on a mapping/texturing etc. forum:

Hey Snipa, I may be wrong but it looks like the ladder is antialiased. I assume you know that's bad? Really really bad :P
