Post how to see New Vision textures in the editor?
I'd like to have a look at New Vision textures but they won't show up in the editor for some reason: UnrealEd either crashes or displays the old ones. New Vision runs normally though. Can somebody please tell me what to do? I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

I'm pretty sure New Vision textures cannot be shown in the editor. However I may be wrong.

Thanks for answering Trasher :)

Is there any way to extract the files otherwise? Sorry I'm totally new at this stuff.

Because of the way the new textures are stored, you will never be able to view them in the editor. The editor is fixed to Software rendering, and the new textures require the updated OpenGL/DirectX drivers that support S3TC/DXT texture compression.

I'm not sure about exporting from the completed packages because they're a bit weird, but there are package unpackers for Unreal Tournament that should work (that's how I exported the original textures, anyway).

Thanks very much for the explanation. I'll be having a look at these unpackers you mentioned :)

You definitely can't view the textures in the editor AFAIK. Hell, I've tried everything lol.

If UnrealEd 2 supports OpenGL you might be able to get it to work in that, but 1 (as far as I know) is locked to software so you'll never get them to work.

Just tried it - UnrealEd 2 does work with new vision textures.

I'm using UED 2 from the Deus Ex editing pack available here: http://dxalpha.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... iting+pack

Hope it helps anyone wondering lol.

And now that I've deleted its post, your post looks pretty weird.
