Gas mask and untrained envir. skill

Shouldn't someone being untrained in envir. skill be able to wear/use the gas mask? That's what the skill description suggests (and all the skills seem to work like this), but I have to be trained to wear it. Thank you!

I suspect that the skill description is wrong. Should be addressed one way or another in the next patch.

Was there a special reason to introduce the gas mask in addition to the already existing hazmat suit? Thank you!

The gas mask makes you completely immune to gas. It makes gas grenades a bit more useful as you can run in and whack a coughing enemy over the head without taking any damage.

Also we thought DX was missing a gas mask.

How about expanding the FoV when using it on higher levels? It should make the gas mask less annoying to use and the environmental training actually worth investing in.

I'm sorry but there's a very specific reason the gas mask view is that small. Deus Ex does not accept textures larger than 256x256 - this can be circumvented for world textures by using one of Chris Dohnal's renderers, but it gets a bit hairy with the GUI. I think we use like 4 or 6 textures for the gas mask view right now, making it any larger would be pretty ugly.

And worst of all, it wouldn't scale to your resolution. And it can't be made to.
