Are you playing Deus EX with the 1112 Multiplayer patch installed?
Did you play Deus EX for minute or so before installing TNM?

Re: Critical Error ReadFile Beyond EOF PLEASE HELP
Yeah i just installed the 1112 patch and it didnt help and i did play deus ex before installing it. i have the direct 2 drive version of the game and i think that might have something to do with it
Re: Critical Error ReadFile Beyond EOF PLEASE HELP
well i guess thats the problem, tnm doesnt work with direct 2 drive Damn i really wanted to play it!
Re: Critical Error ReadFile Beyond EOF PLEASE HELP
Unfortunately that is the case, digital downloads change a vital file or two.elias444 wrote:Yeah i just installed the 1112 patch and it didnt help and i did play deus ex before installing it. i have the direct 2 drive version of the game and i think that might have something to do with it
Suggestion:Try the new exe http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/

Re: Critical Error ReadFile Beyond EOF PLEASE HELP
so just download the new exe and unzip and replace the old one?
Re: Critical Error ReadFile Beyond EOF PLEASE HELP
Yeah, what I did was to copy the original and save that somewhere, a new folder or the like, delete the exe in the Deus EX system file and extract the new one to there. Don't forget to run DX for a few seconds before installing TNM.elias444 wrote:so just download the new exe and unzip and replace the old one?

so i installed that new exe but when i try to run deus ex with it i get the same error that i get when i try to run tnm, readfile beyond EOF and then a bunch of numbers, this did not happen with the old exe. ill probably uninstall tnm and deus ex and reinstall them and try them again.
Thanks so much for your help bobby!

Gah, sorry to hear that. There are a few threads about the Steam version of DX and how to get TNM to work with it, nothing for D2D though.

Yeah I'm really sorry but we never managed to find a solution to the Direct2Drive incompatibility. We don't even have any idea what files are changed in that version

Re: Critical Error ReadFile Beyond EOF PLEASE HELP
Check the Direct2Drive licence and your local laws. It's possible that in buying the game, you've bought the same right we have to play Deus Ex (with TNM). In that way, you could legally download a copy from the internet. The laws in some countries don't allow for that, but even then I think you'd be ethically alright.
