Cannot enter floor 3 at worldcorp. Elevator & stairs crash..

Hey all, was really enjoying the mod until this problem occurred. BAD EXPORT INDEX

1. Placed spyware device on the worldcorp servers
2. Got in the elevator to complete primary goal on the 3rd floor.
3. Game crashes with a HUGE error message.
4. Try to take the stairs, crashes again with same error


I cannot reach the third floor of worldcorp in any way. Everytime the level transition takes place the game crashes to my desktop. It's not a memory error. I'm playing on windows 7 and have played through DX multiple times so I know it's not an engine problem....

Help please!

No thats fine, pre 1.04 there were lots of weird happenings. I don't believe we've seen this crash before. I suppose you didn't save before entering World Corp? Then you could try doing the 3rd floor stuff before going to the 2nd floor and if you still get a crash then it might be a corrupted file.

Sigh....I did but when I uninstalled TNM I removed all but my most recent save. Upon reinstalling and applying the 1.4+ patch it still crashes, even when I leave, go outside and save and then go in through the front door.

Level 3 is corrupted somehow.

Mm, maybe Jonas or one of the other guys could help you, the only thing I can suggest is a reinstall but others here are bit more clever than me and could have a solution.

They check the forums regularly. Sometimes they might be busy working or studying, but it shouldn't be too long before they drop by.

All right uh... at a guess, your savegame is fucked up - did you enter floor 3 successfully before this happened? Try going into your saves, back up your savegame. Inside the savegame folder, find... the file would be called 20_WCFloor3.dxs or something, and delete it. Then try again. Anything you've previously done in the floor 3 map will be reset, but your problem should hopefully be solved.

You don't have any other mods installed, right? You haven't used any gameplay-changing mods before you installed The Nameless Mod?

Thanks so much. It works great and I just beat that mission. Since I hadn't explored level 3 I didn't even lose anything.

Just to clarify. This occurred using the steam version of DX GOTY and 1.4 of TNM. No other mods or changes were in use.

Thanks again, I can't get over how incredible this game is. So much more personality than any retail game I've played in a long time.
