Critical Error. TNM loads, and then crashes before startup

I can't actually seem to launch the game. I get this "Critical Error" message that pops up:

Can't find ObjectProperty DeusEx.AugLight.b2

History. UObject::SafeLoadError < - UObject::StaticLoadClass < - InitGameInfo < - UGameEngine::LoadMap < - UGameEngine::Init < - XGameEngine..Init < - DDeusExGameEngine::Init < - InitEngine


I have no idea what any of this means. I was browsing through this section looking to see if anyone had similar problems, but didn't find much. I saw a suggestion to download one of the graphic improvement mods, but I have no idea.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm desperate to play this mod.

Did you run Deus Ex for a few seconds before launching TNM?

If you haven't tried this it's worth it if you have a multicore cpu. http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/

I don't know that any of the graphical mods will help with launching the game.

Sounds like you need to reinstall everything, Deus Ex and TNM both, and no other mods

Yea, I ran it for a few seconds before launching TNM. I'm going to follow Jonas' advice and reinstall everything.


Oh, I forgot to mention, I've also been using shifter plus as well.

It's almost certainly Shifter Plus causing problems, in which case a reinstall is the only way to go and make sure not to install Shifter Plus as well. You can always install it again when you're done with TNM if you just want to go back to playing Deus Ex

Yep. I reinstalled everything and then tried TNM. Worked perfectly. The second I installed Shifter, i got the same error message again. I thought shifter was supposed to work with TNM somewhat. Is there a certain Shifter version that does? Perhaps an earlier one?

By the way, this mod is incredible. The work put into this is astounding.

The latest Shifter version !.8.4 is the most compatible yet. Yuki does warn that there may still be bugs/glitches though.
