Resolution problems

Post by Zeitgeist »

It seems TNM is stuck on 640x480 resolution. When I up it to anything bigger, the rest is just black.

You'll want to set your resolution in the ini file, not in the graphical settings. This is an issue with the included OTP GUI Fix, and there's no way to fix it properly, so use your ini file. You'll be wanting to open TNM.ini in \DeusEx\TNM\System\ and find the section [WinDrv.WindowsClient]. Here, change these settings to your desired resolution:

FullscreenViewportX=
FullscreenViewportY=

I suppose that is also why alt+tabbing doesn't work? Even if you press ctrl+alt+del, when you get back to the game the graphics are all messed up

No we believe the alt-tabbing weirdness is due to the 3rd-party OpenGL renderer. You might want to try Chris Dohnal's DirectX9 renderer instead (assuming your video card supports it) if you need to be able to alt-tab.

Or upgrading to Windows 7, but then that's a bit more of a bother, isn't it? :P

Quick question, how would one go about installing the DX9 renderer? Chris' site shows no instillation readme.
I assume you drop both the D3D9Drv.dll and D3D9Drv.int into Deus Ex\System? Any .ini's that need altering afterwards?

I think it may be enough to just use the Change Renderer menu to switch back to Direct3D after putting the new .dll into the System directory. Please try it out and let me know if it works.

Yep, that's all that was needed! TNM loads up a lot quicker now and Alt+Tab works flawlessly!

Also had a quick run tour of WorldCorp and didn't see any rendering issues.
