Do you own the Gamersgate version?
Maybe you could tell us a bit about the install.
It would probably be easy to figure it out given the correct details.

That is unless the devs have actually tested on the Gamersgate version. But I don't think they have.

We haven't even heard from anybody who has the Gamersgate version yet, so the only thing I can tell you is that we'd be really grateful if you'd try it and let us know how it goes :)

Has anyone else tried playing Gamersgate Deus Ex period? I downloaded it, but I can not get it to work, it asks for the CD to be inserted but of course I don't have a CD, becuase I bought it off Gamersgate. So if anyone else has bought DX off Gamersgate please tell me if it worked or not.

Open up your DeusEx.ini file in a text editor.

Find the Section labeled [Engine.Engine]

Under that section find CDPath=[whatever]
and just delete whatever is after the equals sign. It should now look like CDPath=

You could also try CdPath=C:/

I have a help, maps, music, save, sounds, system and textures folders at the moment. (it does not seem to be downloading or installing right at the moment so I'm not sure if that is all of the folders DX should have.

If anyone purchases Deus Ex off Gamersgate (not that I recommend it) don't delete the install files (yes it says that it is reccomended if installation is succesfull but they lie) this is because I had the game working, tried it out it all worked so I did what it told me and told it to delete the install files. Now it is asking me for the d*** CD again and it won't work. Two hours of download & installation down the drain. Still now I think I know what to do for the fourth time I download it. And I still don't know whether this mod works with it or not! ](*,)

GamersGate?

*Googles it*

Why not use Steam? Steam works perfectly fine.

Or, because the Steam version is different, why not use Direct2Drive?

The Direct2Drive version is actually incompatible with TNM because nobody understands how it differs from the retail one, whereas the Steam version is fairly simple, so TNM is compatible with it out of the box.

Oh, well I did not know, I have never used D2D. My Mom always buys my games on eBay or Steam, or PSN in some cases. I just assumed that the D2D version was just DX with the no-CD trick enabled...

You may put it in your FAQ that the Gamersgate version of The Nameless Mod works! :)
