Hmm, I'm not sure exactly what it would be, but TNM *does* have much larger saves than DX. Did this just start happening, or does it happen right from the time you start a new game?

I've ended up encountering the same (or similar, since I'm not on a portable drive) issue. Right around the time I was trying to figure out what was going on with the game lock-ups at ABI after killing one of the guards. I have a recollection it happened a short while after trying to grind my way through after the kill'n'freeze issue by killing the offending guard then saving. Actual HDD remaining space wasn't an issue. Just wouldn't save any game, quick or otherwise.

I ended up "fixing" it by just zapping everything and reinstalling.
