For me all the sound starts 'cracking' if an explosion takes place that kills several people, or when someone activates an augmentation. So basically, when many sound effects take place at the same time.
I have an onboard sound card which might be to blame for that. Until I get a better one, what can I do? Would changing the EffectsChannels setting in the .ini to something else work? It is 16 by default, when I raised it to 32 I didn't notice much of a difference though. Or should I reduce it?
I get it with both Deus Ex and TNM.

Try lowering your sound hardware acceleration to "basic."

It didn't work, it still happens.
