I have had a problem ever since installing The Nameless Mod: the first time that I try to open it after booting up my computer, it crashes immediately and give me an error box. If I try running it again, it will load just fine, though usually after I've played for about an hour or two the game will either crash to the same error message, crash to desktop without any message, or hard freeze my whole computer. The most random things are going on when it crashes, like someone starting to run away from me or me Tab-tossing an item from my inventory. The most recent time this happened I took a screenshot of the error box:
I've tried un-installing everything, then re-installing Deus Ex, patching it, then applying the mod and the mod's patch. I haven't changed any settings outside of the in-game Settings menu(no .ini tweaks). My video card is an NVidia GeForce FX 5900, if that helps.
That's odd, it looks like OpenGL errors rather than a TNM thing.
Are you installing the OpenGL renderer included with TNM? I installed it manually, but I'm sure that makes no difference. The old OpenGL renderer wasn't very good, and I think TNM requires the new one.
You could try upgrading your nVidia drivers. I've had trouble with the new ones, however. Sites like laptopvideo2go.com offer pre-modified and pre-configured drivers that can fix issues that the official drivers are having.
Is this on Windows Vista? There was some hoopla about the OpenGL version included with Windows Vista, that it either wasn't, or opengl.dll was made an alias to directx.com.lnk, or some other anticompetitive jackastical reconfiguration. If it is Vista, it might help to install the latest OpenGL or an alternative OpenGL...I think the last Windows that didn't come with OpenGL before Vista was Windows 95.
