Greetings ladies and gentlemen:

After a long and troublesome break from the mod scene, I am pleased to announce that I will be reviving the "Man in Black" mod for the original Deus Ex.

For those of you who have never heard of DX: MiB (or for those who lost track of us over the past 2 years of very little news), the mod is set approximately one month after the events of the first game. Players will step into the role of Agent Q, a prototype "Q Series" agent, and fight on the side of Majestic 12 as the conspirators seek to defeat a resurgent Illuminati Order.

The storyline of the mod has undergone massive changes, and I am confident this new direction will not only improve the narrative of the mod, but will improve the development process as well.

The mod team is looking to add the following positions:

-Mappers (Players will return to several maps from the original game while visiting new locales such as Washington DC, Moscow, Tokyo, and Nairobi)
-Skinners
-Musicians
-Texture artists

Oops, forgot to elaborate on one recruitment position:

-Texture artist (we will be adding textures for each of the new maps, including billboards, Cyrillic signposts/advertisements for Moscow, tons and tons of Japanese textures for Tokyo, etc)

Suggestion: perhaps edt your original post in the thread to include the position you missed so that people can see them all in one place?

I'm pretty new to the boards but I'd like to say best of luck. Sounds like a great premise and I'll greatly look forward to playing it once you are done.

Please ensure Q has a cool MiB voice, though that of his namesake bond gadgeteer might be fun too. :D

Well I mentioned the texture artist in the original post, I just didn't elaborate on what specific textures we'd be looking for like I'd originally intended. So far the plan is for Q to have a voice with the deep metallic filter like the other MIBs. We'll see what our sound staff thinks of that in the long term.

Lol, my favorite response from the forums was last year when someone said, "Sweet, a Johnny Cash mod!" xD If only...

There's been some interesting debate regarding the Moscow level and Red Square. Different theories on how to tackle the geometry/texturing nightmares that are St. Basil's Cathedral and the Kremlin towers.

Sounds like quite a challenge for an intrepid mapper... 8-[

Didn't end up going into the Army (best decision I ever made), but I finally wrapped up that whole "personal problems" issue (yay divorce!)
