I'm not very obligated to complain... but why this mod affects only deusex.u file? For example, class "AugmentationUpgrade" expanding "AugmentationUpgradeCannister" with Ford Schick. Why not to recompile conversation files? Also, forcing music to play during the last visit to Hell Kitchen via UC is kinda hacky since it's all possible via UnrealEd. It's made for compactness of the fix? Sth like "replace 1 file and forget all the buggy crap"? It's kinda hacky.

The less a mod has to replace, the better it might maintain compatibility with other things, and the simpler it is.

I follow basically the same approach: If I need to mess about with things in a level, I just do it via missionscripts. It's not like there's a significantly good reason not to, and it prevents people having to download and replace their map files as well.

Um, ok. But just one question: since enemies do not use LAMs in fights with you (excapt Howard Strong at Vandenberg), wouldn't it be correct to make Aggressive Defense detonate them even if they're just placed on walls? It should detonate them "prior to reaching the agent" according to its description. But enemies don't use them. Perhaps the developer meant they should be exploded, anyway, and it's just a small inconsistence? Or am i simply mistaken?

The MIB at the top of the Ocean Lab observation tower. He's killed me a couple of times with that LAM he carries. Of course, the way I found out was running the ADS in dealing with the GEP guy once and got blown up for my troubles.

Here's a wierd thing about DX I just learned (and yes learning after playing tons of playthroughs): You don't even have to talk to Gunther to save him on the Liberty Island level. Just tossed a LAM in (the one outside the door with the lasers in fact), heard the door crack when it blew up, then ran on up the stairs to the top, got the messages and the bonus.

I don't think it's necessarily a bug but pretty odd that Gunther would know you threw the LAM that got him out and not Corporal Collins or Navarre..

edit: I forgot to talk to Navarre and Gunther after the mission when I posted the above. I just tried it and he does his line about not going in without a coordinated military assault. This definitely seems a wierd thing if anything.

Gunther would know that you were the only one there. Pretty much everyone would know, since it's explicitly you that's being sent in and nobody else. At the very least, after Gunther re-establishes contact with base (which he does, according to Jacobson when you reach the top of the Statue), they'd tell him that it was you if he didn't know already.

Point being: It wouldn't be hard for Gunther to find out you were the only one on the mission, especially since people are watching through your Infolink anyway.

Also, for what it's worth: ADS detonates any LAM that an enemy uses in battle, since it detonates any explosive projectile that isn't already stuck to a wall.

I've definitely seen nsf pull lams out.

Edit: Also, this is v2, it's supposed to be only bug fixes. making lams on walls explode seems to me to be going to far.

On a different note, if I use a shotgun with master skill and targetting to get it to 100% accurate, it eliminates the particle spread, turning it into a short range sniper rifle.

If I kill Hundley for John Smith, then come back, sometimes Smith will talk to me and complain about the cameras, and sometimes he won't say anything at all. Regardless, shutting off the cameras accomplishes nothing, he won't talk to me anymore.

Since Yuki wrote this and shifter, I guess this is a good place to remark that shifter marks Hundley as friendly instead of neutral, even though there is a quest to kill him in the game.

That's because, in Deus Ex, every pellet is treated as a separate shot. Your "particle spread" is the exact same width as your normal firing cone (er... pyramid? since it's square and all).

Basically: In Deus Ex, there is no hard maximum for accuracy (except 100%, of course) and pellet spread is the exact same as normal bullet spread, so it's possible with skill and augs to get that sawed-off-sniper-shotgun effect.

My mod attempts to fix this by calculating pellet spread as an offset from your regular aim spread. In other words, it picks where your shot goes like normal, then spreads the bullets around that line a little bit.

Out of curiosity: Does this actually cause any problems?

Means you lose skill points for killing/stunning him.

I think the pepper spray should cause a severe tranquilizer effect to the player.

I found the corpse in the editor in the water which is hidden in the game. It appears to be John Smith. Which guy living on the coast tells you he found a body in the water?

I think this is definitely getting beyond the scope of Deus Ex 2.0 to "fix", but it brings up a valid concern. For fairly obvious reasons of gameplay, gas grenades and pepper spray don't disable you like they do enemies. It does mess up your aim a bit by screwing with your FoV and shaking your view around, and obscures your vision a bit, although it could also do more, if one were inclined to make it so. I'm not sure what, though. Thinking off the top of my head, the "drug effects" timer could also mess with your accuracy in a more direct sense, or lower your effective skills themselves, stop you from running as fast, or probably any number of other things. I'm not sure what would be a good idea, though. And again, this is well outside the scope of Deus Ex 2.0, which is basically a fan-patch.

The body never shows up because the mission script for that mission has a flag name misspelled. I believe it has "HaveROM" when it should be "Have_ROM", or something like that. Easy fix.

Re: gas grenades and the like: it's a trade off, since while teargas may disable them temporarily, it does zero damage to NPCs. As anyone who's ever tried to rush a room of gassed guards will tell you, it nevertheless can kill the player pretty quickly. This is probably the most ideal compromise, really (discourages spamming gas everywhere, increases usefulness of augEnviro/hazmat suits).

Stunning/gassing does make it pretty ridiculously easy to kill them, though, considering the massive damage bonus you get for attacking them from behind at point-blank range (it's almost always instantly lethal).

Wait. No. Actually, the point-blank stealth-attack check is only done if you fail the check for the other damage bonus from the NPC being shocked/stunned/gassed.

If a shocked/stunned/gassed NPC gets hit, he suffers 4 times the usual damage. If he's not shocked/stunned/gassed and you hit him at point-blank range from behind, he suffers 10 times the usual damage. So in a weird way, stunned NPCs are at an advantage in rare cases.

Well a cop in hong kong decided to pull out his pepper spray on me, and I coughed for 2 damage or something. I think it would be better if it "Zymed" our player's screen.

Hi, I've looked over your mod and I like what I;m reading but I have one reservation.

I'm running a heavily modded version of Deus Ex with most of the major graphical mods included (New Vision, Revision, HDTP, Shifter etc.) so I'm just wondering if installing this mod will screw anything up for me. My situation with Deus Ex is that I've just now got it working the way I want it to but it seems very fragile.

Will it even effect me if I use the Revision executable file?

If this is the wrong place to ask just delete my post or something, I don't mean to spam this thread.
