Earlier this month, I installed the DeusExe launcher for GMDX, and everything with the game appeared to be working just fine. Last week, I tried playing GMDX, and as soon as I opened the game menu, I saw nothing but a blacked-out mess.
For whatever reason, this only seems to be happening now with Kentie's launcher, when it worked just fine more than a week ago. Is there any particular reason why the game is behaving like this?

Also, another unrelated error I'm having right now is that this is the fifth time I've reinstalled the game to see if that would clear up the error......not only am I still having this problem, but the game also refuses to load my saves that I'd backed up before this problem started happening.

Find gmdxuser.ini in mydocuments/DeusEx/GMDX and within find the MenuThemeName var and set it to:
As it looks like you have a completely black menu color theme for whatever reason. Maybe you created a custom color theme with those colors?

It really does look like ALL your menu colors (12 color elements per theme) are entirely black, which is odd as the default colors of the custom color theme are mostly blue and I doubt you'd make everything black yourself unless you were just experimenting.

Anyway, I just added a check to make sure that all colors in a player's customized color theme cannot be set pitch black, which as we can see is just unusable.

You could try and add the -localdata parameter to your GMDX shortcut so it won't use the MyDocuments folder at all, that might resolve some things.

Yeah that'd probably be the better, more certain solution given the problem.

We had similar problems with Revision and Kentie's. Thing is that we use the convention of the launcher normally looking for Game.ini and GameUser.ini if the launcher is named Game.exe. So if you run it without any parameters and it's called Revision.exe it will look for Revision.ini and RevisionUser.ini, if those are not present it will look for RevisionDefault.ini and RevisionDefUser.ini. Kentie does not follow that lookup algorithm and loaded the wrong user.ini file, resulting in the wrong player class being selected and with that a bunch of stuff stopped working. In the end we just forced our gameinfo to set it to our player class anyway regardless if what the ini said to mitigate the issue.

Could be something similar here, it uses another color theme then you specified and thus maybe another User.ini file (as themes are stored there). And by skipping my documents it's one less thing to worry about. Another tip could be to specify in the shortcut the -INI= and -USERINI= parameters to make it really clear for the launcher what to use.
