Direct X 10 for Deus Ex
Wow, been a while since I was on here, but I thought if (i could not find anyway) if anyone has posted this on here, I thought I would. The DX10 render for Deus Ex. It can be found here: http://kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/ I got the latest one and ran it on my Windows 7, Geforce 9800 GTX 1GB card and you can almost notice a difference straight away in quality of some things and with HDTP on this and the upgraded texture pack, you'd get a very much better quality Deus Ex. Just follow the instructions to install it, you must have the 2 files and the folder in the Deus Ex System folder to work, and DX10 graphics card and Vista or Windows 7, along with the DirectX patch from Microsoft, the links there. The screehsots of Deus Ex running it are not that great though compared to actually playing the game with this.

Ah yes I've been waiting for that since I saw the latest Project 2027 screenshots. I would love to see how TNM looks with this baby on... Link has been added to the mod list, thanks

Re: Direct X 10 for Deus Ex
That would look good with New Vision and HDTP.

Re: Direct X 10 for Deus Ex
That IS with New Vision, look at the textures - D3D10 by itself wouldn't do that Thanks for the shots, Morpheus. Not sure I really see the difference between D3D9 and this, but it still looks nice.

Re: Direct X 10 for Deus Ex
Yeah, it is. All we need is the finished HDTP and we should really see something. Here is a couple of better shots: Who knew that even though DX uses the original Unreal Engine and can still look pretty modern with these graphics tweeks? Shows what dedication can do. Take a game around 10 years old, and make it look almost as modern as some games now. Only difference is that Deus Ex does not have physics.

I wonder if there's a way to put specular on the ground textures in the rainy city scenes. Maybe even enhance the rain effects somehow...

Re: Direct X 10 for Deus Ex
@Morpheus: Note that it can do an older game than Deus Ex... Unreal Tournament.

I have to say; I barely see any difference. Could be me.
And what the hell happened to your downtown main road? That brown smudge looks terrible.

Re: Direct X 10 for Deus Ex
Actually I meant Higher textures, better redone models etc as well as the DX10. What game has been redone like that and made look modern enough? Apart from Deus Ex, I am not sure if there is any.

Re: Direct X 10 for Deus Ex
There's a few. The renderer upgrades can apply to multiple games at once, though Deus Ex's dll for OpenGL had to be customized. I think the main focus of the DirectX renderer was GTA:SA.
Other games have texture packs, like SSII and Deus Ex 2. I think you're right; I don't think there are any games that have received the same level of improvement DX has, with nearly all of the work complete, though almost all of it is unreleased still. DX has had nearly all the textures replaced, most models replaced, new animations added, bugs patched, new weather effects added, whatever everything TNM is, new renderers compiled, the music remastered or recreated by score, and a port to a different game. A lot of that is even playable now, though some is unreleased or incomplete.

Re: Direct X 10 for Deus Ex
I think the normal term is "new campaigns".

Guys, look, it's dead, on the floor, and beaten into a pulp, why are you giving that mass of exploded flesh CPR?
