I don't remember spiders either :s Not on the second level anyway (isn't that the shipping yard?)

I was intending to play Max Payne 3 this weekend but it doesn't work on Windows 8, and even though Rockstar are aware of the problem they're not going to fix it until Windows 8 is actually released. This is why I don't buy games #-o.

Yeah, one of the warehouses, I think belonging to a steak chef or something, is full of spiders. Apparently that's what he serves his customers. There's also a couple of spiders in a shed on the pirate/smuggler ship.

Well that is why I don't use a beta version of something as crucial as my operating system ;)

Ah yeah, now I remember them. Is that at the shipyard where the loot is hidden in some interesting places? I might be remembering another game as it's all a bit hazy.

Is Max Payne 3 any good at all, anyway? It doesn't seem to have the Max Payne Noir "Feeling", and I hear there are more cutscenes than there is actual gameplay. I also don't see any of the cool comic book cutscenes the first two had which disappoints me, and now it's cover-based and has a weapon limit.

Oh yeah also I'm playing a lot of games right now so I'll type up a little list:

The Nameless Mod
Deus Ex
System Shock 2
Thief: The Dark Project
Ultima Underworld
Dead Space
Amnesia: The Dark Descent

I'll play more Max Payne when I figure out how to make it not break.

Maybe I missed that one :P Then again it has been a while since I played it..a replay may be in order sometime.

I generally haven't had any problems with it - only with modern games, which was a bit surprising. Driver San Francisco flat-out refused to install, and Rockstar games refuse to run (LA Noire got stuck on the main loading screen, and Max Payne 3 crashes on startup.) It's Rockstar's attitude of "Oh, we know about that but we can't be bothered to fix it" that pisses me off, and makes me glad I didn't pay for it.

That said I'm not expecting Max Payne 3 to be any good, so maybe it's for the better. I loved the original games, especially the second, so the thought of seeing a bald Max Payne running around shanty-towns is a bit worrying.

I just got Max Payne to run perfectly. My issue with it is that I HAVE to use Vsync or important events break, but windowed mode disables Vsync, and Vsync causes mouse lag. Oh well, still a great game. I'd try out the third one, but I'm afraid I don't exactly have 35gb left on this Hard Drive.

Yeah I really like the level, getting all the loot is very sort of... puzzle-y. It feels like a very intricate and exploration-based level, and the fact that the objective is something as simple as "get loot" makes it even better, it feels very iconically like a Thief mission. And it has some great secrets :)

I understand that of course you'd be angry about that. However, I can see why they might make that decision too - Windows 8 is beta software, anyone who uses it must expect the occasional conflict, and if they start addressing it now, they have no guarantee that they won't have to fix it again later, since Windows 8 is presumably still subject to changes. But that still sucks for you, of course. Or I mean... it'd suck if you'd paid for the game.

IIRC the dudes there were a bit tough if you had to engage in combat. There was one loot chest's location in the warehouse near the pirate ship that took me ages to figure out how to get to it.

Replaying Mass Effect 1.
I'd forgotten how annoying the bloody Inventory System in ME1 was. ME3 does it better.
However, I really like how the Skills worked in that game.

I think I've spent too long playing though. The UI is engraved into my peripheral vision and I really want to name my car the Normandy.

Hahah! I'm into my third playing of ME 3. This time it's renegade Jane's turn. There are some amusing moments and asides that I didn't get playing Paragon John.

Shepard to Cortez: What's the Situation?

James in the background: What? Not even a hello first? :D

Just got the Narcissus ending on TNM, and also finally got the PDX ending without cheating. I'll start my WorldCorp playthrough tomorrow. Right now, more Deus Ex!

Finished the bank level in Thief. That level was a goddamn bitch. Such a huge building made up of tiny rooms and twisting halls, half of them with fucking noisy as hell tile floors, and somehow getting from the right side of the building to the left was extremely difficult, took me ages to find a viable path. Jeez. Next mission looks fun though, but I don't have time to play anymore tonight.

When you've finished Thief 2, you may want to check out T2X. It's an awesome mission pack/mod.
