There's also System Shock 1 and 2, though I suppose you already played those.

There's also an old Doom close called Strife (you can play it with ZDoom) that has RPG elements in it.

If we're doing the really old stuff, I recommend the Might & Magic games. I don't care if you're psychic, you'll never see the plot twist in MM6 coming.

I've got this downloaded, but the controls are all fucked up. >_>; I arraigned them to WASD with the options, but there are apparently unalterable, undocumented controls because now if I touch anything I start running forward uncontrollably without a way to turn it off or stop.
ZDoom? I was playing it with DOSBox. The only doom frontend I've got right now is Doomsday.

I can't remember which, but I had one of these that was a turn based strategy that involved sending heroes all over the world, conquering cities, gathering resources, building armies etc. It was on the gameboy. I don't have it anymore though, no idea where the cartridge went. :( That game owned.

Heroes of Might & Magic, that was.
HOMM4 is fairly recent, but I haven't played it. HOMM3 was nice.

You can get Zdoom here:

Another oldie "open world RPG" is Outcast:

They have it on Underdogs if I recall.

Yes, Outcast was quite great for the time. I don't know if it's on underdogs though, it was 2 CD's (OMG!). If you want it and have an FTP server available somewhere "someone" could upload it for you over the weekend ;)

I started playing Mount & Blade today, on recommendation. It's a whole lot of fun, actually. :) Way unforgiving if you fuck up, though.

Also $25 for what is clearly an unfinished beta? :| Not so sure about that...

Ugh, motherfuck. After you reach the level limit in the trail version, it doesn't prevent you from advancing but rather saves the game then quits to desktop on the fucking spot as soon as you get enough experience for level 8. x_x I figured it'd at least let me continue exploring. :(
$25 is still far too much for a work in progress beta, imo. :/ I'd pay 10 or 15 for this, but not $25.

Single Player Games I've been playing lately:

Puzzle Quest - (surprisingly good)
Experiance 112 - (aka The Experiment in the US, but the US shat on it a bit sooo)
VtM:Bloodlines - (already mentioned)

Multiplayer Games I've been playing lately:

Talisman Online - (simple and fun)
Archlord - (polished turd, fun but repetative)
RF Online - (furry turd, almost fun if it wasn't for the forced walking when you run out of stamina)
Team Fortress 2 - (... weeeeeeeeeeeeeee BONK...)
Anarchy Online - (fun in an over complicated maths geek kind of way (also my favourite))

Stuff I'm waiting for:

Spore - (Made for gods by god)
Spore Mobile - (Comes out a few weeks before and should stop me becoming an over excited wreck before the real thing)
SMB:Brawl - (PI-KA-CHUUUUUUUU)
Mario Kart Wii - (F***ing Blue Shell)
