You gonna go phantom ninja or something?

I'm fed up with side quests so I started the end game in Flames of Vengeance. I'm currently about to start looking for 5 *somethings which will lead to the final boss fight...I assume.

I didn't even know it had a endgame? I thought it was like Minecraft but, 2D.
Unless you're just screwing with me, in which case; Well Played. =D>

I tried getting Head tracking Software working with Half Life 2 today but alas, It was rather complicated and gave up after a couple of minutes.

Completed the Single player portion of Portal 2 the other day too. It's a very good game but I wish the end game was a bit less... strange? (The whole Portal on the Moon thing was a serious 'What the Fuck?' Moment. Wasn't sure I liked that at all. It was funny and everything (Quote: 'I'm in Space!') but that doesn't really make it a good ending. And the boss battle was a bit dull. Same thing as the original, with Bombs and Mobility Gel. Oh, and I wish some of the plot ideas were explored a little more; i.e GladOS' and Caroline etc.
Played through most of the Co-Op Portion with my Sister. (Splitscreen on a PC! Impossible you say! Simple hacks + Duel Stick Gamepad FTW!)
It's quite fun, we've had some laughs trying to figure some of the more interesting puzzles but most of them were quite easy. I expected them to be a little more difficult. Actually, both portions of the game (SP and Co-Op) felt much easier than the original Portal.
Maybe the Upcoming DLC will include Bonus maps and Advanced maps (Similar to the original) that might provide more of a challenge.

Final thought; The Turret Opera was a seriously unexpected moment.
Also, the ending song is not even close to as good as 'Still Alive'. It's still kinda catchy though.
No mention of Cake found yet either.

EDIT: Yeah, For some unknown reason, I just put all my spoilers in quote boxes rather than 'spoiler-ing' them.
Good thing I checked after I'd posted.

Also, I hadn't noticed before but I use an excessive amount of Spoiler thingys.

Off topic, I know, but I ordered one of those Epic Weapons Alice: Madness Returns Vorpal Blade replicas and it came yesterday. Also got the mini Vorpal Blade too.
Where did you get it, how much did it cost and how likely am I to wind up on the FBI watchlist for owning one? :M

Could make a nice addition to my katana ;)
Here's the official site. It's US$89 without shipping. Had to get mine from eBay though cause the shipping cost for them to send me 2 full sized blades (one from each game) was about US$400. Cost me AU$180 total on eBay for the two I pictured. And no, I don't think the feds will come after you ;) I got those two through customs with no issues. If the cops knew about some of the things I've got up on my wall, well that wouldn't be good 8-[
But as I said, I think it's a little much for what it is but I've spent more on less before so :shrugs:

What I don't understand is why NV is so much buggier and unstable than FO3 when they used the same tech.

Then again, I'm no expert on this sort of thing. :p
bobby 55 wrote:Those Death Claws are definitely better taken out from long range. It's still the Cazadores I hate the most though. :)
I WAS at long range, they just move incredibly fast. They certainly live upto their FO 1/2 legacy. :p

Cazadores aren't much of a worry for me as I usually have more antivenom than I could ever use on top of some kick-ass weaponry. My companions are the only ones truly at risk, though my squadmates usually eliminate threats before I can draw my weapon. :p

Also: Having multiple companions is very overpowered. I can see why the game has a limit of 1. :p

Hey Kee, are you playing with a mod that lets you have more companions? If I could have Veronica, Rex, and Boone all at the same time that'd be awesome. :D

It's Bethesda's tech.
It's no wonder someone has better results with their own engine than another. And it's easier to ask the techs, they are part of your company, not another...
Can somebody tell me how I can get a custom avatar?
Oh wait, I already got one...

Yep. I am a horrible pack rat and I need pack mules. :p

Rex wouldn't be an issue as players can (in the vanilla game) have 1 humaniod companion and 1 non-humaniod, unless you want ED-E and Rex. That mod also doesn't work for the DLCs, but I hardly found it inconvenient there. ^_^

I really think I should get back into New Vegas now, but other than that I've been playing loads of Bad Company 2 - Pistol and Knife servers! Some TF2 with friends and other game.

Now it's the summer holidays for me I'm gonna start clearing out my backlog of games, need to complete:
3 latest Splinter Cells (again)
Psychonauts (again)
Alpha Protocl (again)
Mass Effect 2
Mafia
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky
Deus Ex (again)
The Nameless Mod (SHOCK, I HAVEN'T COMPLETED IT YET!!!)
No One Lives Forever
Just Cause 2
Hitman: Blood Money
Assassin's Creed (I had a sudden urge to play it again)
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Borderlands
Bulletstorm
Max Payne
Sniper: Ghost Warrior
Far Cry 2
Thief 2
Shadowgrounds
Shadowgrounds: Survivor
Torchlight
Trine
RUSH
and Fallout: New Vegas.

That is a very, very long list. Hopefully I can make it.

New Vegas maybe slightly buggier than FO3 but it is a hell of a lot more fun to play.

I'm thinking of playing through either Ultima Underworld 1 or 2 right now :)

Yeah Psychonauts... I was wondering... I really liked the first bits of it, but after a while I got a bit frustrated with the controls (on PC) and certain illogical bossfights or missions which made me consult a walkthrough because after a few of those I couldn't be bothered trying and failing many times before I found out what I had to do (in one case (the opera level) I managed to solve the puzzle with the changing décors without having any clue as to what I was doing or what I was supposed to be doing). Then when I thought I had finished the game I had to fight the end boss... which then didn't turn out to be an endboss. Some time after that I got even more frustrated with a really annoying escort mission (saving the whiner with the helicopter hat).
This has me wondering: am I just a sour grumpy asshole or is it really a frustrating game at times (especially the first time one plays it)?

Escort missions are a massive pain in the ass IMO, no matter the genre.

Flames of Vengeance: I'm getting my ass handed to me on a platter in the Antideluvian Vault. I'm going to have to play that map a bit more patiently.

Meanwhile I've started playthrough three in Ego Draconis as a Ranger, with dual weilding and Circle of Fire, combined with Explosive Arrow and Magic Missile. So far it's the most fun of all the builds I've tried.

For those who have enjoyed Mega64's Parody videos in the past; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Js02m-7q ... ture=feedu

(And for Deus Ex fans. I might just make you chuckle. It did me. )

Great, thanks for the link Kee. Yeah the game won't let your companions go with you in the DLCs anyway, so that's no problem, as you say. With a couple of exceptions there's not much I want to keep from them (DLCs).

Haha, Yes! I think I've seen that but it's classic. I'd so do something like that. =D>
