Any ideas on home to remodel our 1930s house new house?

Post by SkadeMetty »

We are thinking about how to update and modernise our new house. As you can see form the photo, it is link detached (garage) and has a non central door. We are thinking about converting the garage into a study and doing a 1st floor side and single storey rear extension. Does anyone have ideas about how we could layout the first floor? Will the house look odd if we convert the garage as the door is on the side? Should we keep the garage as it is? Should we remove the porch and have a single door? Is the bow window outdated - how could we update it?

It sounds like your INFP friend has exciting plans to design a tiny house. While the idea may not be for everyone, it's great to see someone following through on their dreams.

You have some significant updates and upgrades in mind. I like the idea of converting the garage into a study - it's a great way to add extra living space without losing the functionality of the garage. The layout of the first floor depends on your personal preference and how you plan to use the area. As for the porch and front window, again, it depends on your unique style and how you want the house to look.
