Yes, Utrecht is orange. Now you say so, Rotterdam never earns anybody any money (it's the green property). Utrecht and Groningen, I'll have to remember for the next time we play this game, which is to say: never, because nobody likes it.

Re: Board Games
That's pretty much how Civ4 is played lol you can win Civilization within just a few turns if you know what you're doing. (advice: Focus on building up a huge ass military to begin with as your AI opponents will be weaker earlier on and more likely to betray you later on no matter how good your relationship is with them.. plus later on attacking cities is a very very long process whereas early on its just a rush job )One player (or if you're really lucky two players) will very quickly become very rich and push everybody else out of the game, except after you've lost, you don't leave the game, you get to spend many many turns slowly losing everything and becoming poorer and poorer, and there's nothing you can do about it.
I get what you mean by Monopoly being evil- that said though its pretty much the exact same flaws in any good TBS/RTS game.

Maybe that's why I never play strategy games.
At least not until DoW2 and SC2 come out.

On a related note, am I the only one annoyed that God of War and Gears of War have the same acronym?
Anybody up for making a game called War of War? That's a great acronym that nobody else seems to be using at the moment.

My hopes and dreams for an RTS based on the Redneck Deer Huntin' universe have been crushed :'(Jonas wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawn_of_War_2
Yeah I agree that it sucks, luckily I never mention GoW in conversation (only GoW), so it's not ambiguous. On a related note, am I the only one annoyed that God of War and Gears of War have the same acronym?

Settlers of catan?
One of the few games where saying "I've got wood, does anyone have any sheep?" won't get you funny looks.

Huh, that looks pretty interesting. Kind of like a board version of AOE or Rise of Nations.DDL wrote:Settlers of catan?

Strangely when I read your post I read "I will never make a game like 'war of the worlds'" and that's a good thing, because the movie is so bad.

Re: Board Games
Speaking of bad movies, have you seen the spirit?
Actually, I would recommend it purely because it's SO FUCKING BAD.
"This one's for Sand!" *biff*
"This one's for me!" *boff*
"And THIS one's for MUFFIN!" *KaPOW*
...muffin being the kitten the bad guy dissolved five minutes earlier just for shits and giggles. Seriously.

Is it so bad that it becomes hilarious?
