I'm redoing some of models since they had some crappy rigging and came out shitty. You can keep running the client if u want, but my laptop should be enough to do a few models.

And I'm pretty sure it's a universally accepted fact that Deus Ex's character animations suck terribly and have always sucked terribly.
As such, wouldn't it make more sense to animate a new skeleton and then translate those animations into vertex-based animations for the new models, if possible?
Yeah but if you were trying to import a tun of models for Deus Ex to DX:R then you have no need to redo all the animations.

Are you saying that you can just do the animations for the individual skeletons and then just copy those animations on to all of the relevant models?

Yes, you have sets of skeletons for certain models and then you can apply the skeleton to all the different models complete with animations.

Let me get this straight though.
Will the DXR characters use the exact same animations as the original DX characters? Even the ones using the new HDTP models?

I think so.

Most likely no.

For now the DXR characters will use the same animations as the HDTP characters. However, since DXR won't be coming out for a while I'll keep an eye out for some updated animations (not UT2004, since UT2004 lacks a lot of animations that DX needs(i.e. reloading, walking) and has many animations that DX doesn't need(wall dodging, backflips etc.))

So let me get this straight; is there any reason at all for me to keep this on my comp? Any at all?

Uh I was under the impression that the HDTP character have no animations and that
this was indeed the problem to begin with.
