Hi all, i`m new to this website but an a avid fan of the `Deus Ex` series which is why this websites attracted me.I have never heard of anything like `Deus Ex HDTP` before and have some questons i would like to ask.
1.How do i obtain `Deus Ex HDTP`, the dowloads page?or is it brought?
2.Will the increase in graphics come with the pack?
3.or will i have to do it myself?
4.Will it work with cracked copies as my disk is scratched?
5.Is the one that will work with `Deus Ex:Invisable War`?
Thank you to anyone who replies and am looking exited to see `Deus Ex 3`

This information is available everywhere on the site and in the forums.
HDTP Release 1 is free. It will improve graphics quality automatically. It will work with the latest version of Deus Ex. It is not a mod for Deus Ex 2: Invisible War.

Welcome to the forums
1. Yes, in fact, it is on the downloads page. But so far only a demo, as the full version is in the final phase of development at the moment.
2. The increased graphics ARE the pack. The increased graphics are the entire point of the project... unless you mean the enhanced renderers, in which case no - you'll have to download those seperately.
3. ...what? Do what yourself?
4. Probably, presuming your cracked version works in the first place. Also: Am I the only person in the world who knows how to take proper care of CD's? No offense, but I hear this all the time - CD's come in a protective case for a reason.
5. HDTP is for Deus Ex 1, not Invisible War. For IW, you'll probably want this instead: http://www.download.com/Deus-Ex-Invisib ... 59306.html
I hope that answers your questions satisfactorily.

I wasn't aware there even were cracks for Deus Ex, considering making it skip CD check is as simple as blanking a single line in the ini.
I end up with scratched up CDs all the time, even though I keep them in their cases. Things have gotten better since I no longer live with five younger siblings obsessed with helping themselves but I still get those mysteriously wrecked discs. I can only assume I have a CD gremlin.

Those mysterious scratches can sometimes come from the computer. But it's not very often since it doesnt really spin in the computer, unlike console game discs. Anyway, I heard toothpaste helps with discs but I've never tried it myself.

I to get the mysterious disk scratches. My solution is to rip every game I own onto an external hd. If the disk needs it I also have one of those disk scratch removal things.

Toothpaste actually does work. A very small dab on the scratched area, then wipe outward towards the edge in a straight line. Don't swirl or go horizontally.

Toothpaste is just an abrasive. I've tried it, and it made the disc look cloudy (making tiny scratches). Maybe use waxes and polishes on CDs before the toothpaste...I'm told that rubbing alcohol reacts with the plastic, maybe try a little of that while polishing.
There's a relatively free program called CDCheck for Windows, which will read and reread questionable sectors on the disc for statistical correctness.
I had a CD player once, made by Pine (aka. PCChips (aka. XFX)). If anything touched the lid during playback, it would compress the CD, pushing it into a ridge on the bottom of the player, stopping the CD and cutting it. Backup any data you own, especially data on unreliable media. DVDs are a bit stronger I'm told, with all the extra hard plastic material.

Oh it defintely makes the disk look cloudy in the area you apply it to, but the reason it works is because the toothpaste is an abrsive and is actually polishing the area. The little granuales in the tothpaste smooth out and fill in somewhate the scratches on the disc. The reason it's important to wipe in a straight line outwards is because discs have information stored just like an old vinyl record, in a circle. By wiping out towards the end, at worst you make very small scratches, where wiping circular could scratch entire lines of info.
Does work for sure though, done it myself quite a few times.
