Hello people!!!
Especially Deus Ex Gamers, Moders and Mappers!!!!
I have a good news for you))
Here is new OpenGL renderer for Deus Ex, and it makes graphics really cool (also includes new Direct3D renderer, but I don't recommend it).
You can use textures up to 4096 dpi (!!!!)
You can download hires textures demo map from here:
The Earth and schema are 1024dpi textures. If you open schema texture in WOTGrealExporter it will be gray. Cause this colors on the schema is DeusEx lighting system. I mean that lighting in new driver is 32-bit. You can use now more realistic lighting and... realistic fog!
This is DXT1 format. And you can use this textures on models.

That's, uh, kind of old news, about the renderer, but what you can do with it is FREAKING AWESOME! I played around with the map for a bit, awesome awesome stuff. I still say we should stick this renderer in with the final release of HDTP, it'd help with the overall quality of the game and give HDTP that much of an impact!

Yep I think this is a dead cert.Master_Kale wrote:That's, uh, kind of old news, about the renderer, but what you can do with it is FREAKING AWESOME! You tell me the console commands to summon a vision Aug canister and some upgrade canisters and I'll check. I've got the latest version installed and it's working fine for me, but I've never had any problems with previous versions either.DDL wrote:Not sure how old news it is: someone wanna check for me if this new renderer works with aug target at max level?
The version I've got plain DOESN'T. The zoom window works, but all the text gets wiped.
allaugs gives you the targetting aug too, so you shouldn't need to use augadd augTarget.

Still gets wiped. Could be code, the window overlaps everything perhaps.

Yeah, I tried to find out why that was: it's definitely a problem specific to the OpenGl renderer: it doesn't happen with the D3D one at all. Confusing.
I should probably write to the guy and tell why the snapshots (in the savegame section) don't work, too: for no good reason, the code actually checks which renderer it's using, and if it's openGl, it doesn't take a snapshot.
Also: well spotted, teh Jonas! I'm so used to using allaugs to get specific augs at max level that I usually make sure I have those augs first, and I forget which ones allaugs adds.

Yeah, the text and border gets wiped. Never noticed it...mainly because even though I've beaten the game ~26 times I've never once used the targeting aug...
The guy that made the enhanced OpenGL renderer also has an enhanced D3D renderer for Deus Ex now. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe it doesn't share the same problem and still carries the benefits of updated code.
