The only thing I could do is to make it a lower quality ogg, but personally I wouldn't really want to do that.
The reason they are large is becasue they are around 6 minutes long, so the only other thing would be to cut the length down.

 Re: Sub Level Ambient
Eep, no problem Steve, this was a pleasant surprise! Everything does not have to go through me, btw. It's a common misconception
Do we have to do anything about it? The buffer of the player should be able to handle it, and download-wise... well, the mod is already going to be so damn big, I doubt it'll make that much of a difference.
And I really like high-quality music

HI
I have a little trouble with the editor when adding my own tracks and playing the level.
It is as if the loop is way to short...it only plays a few seconds of the track and then it starts over.
Then the track starts a couple of seconds later and does a short loop again....
That way a track will take close to one hour
I can't figure out whats wrong!

Upload the map that you're using so that we can check that its not just that you have the map set up wrong. Otherwise it may well be that the player has a bug.

After some 3-way troubleshooting between Martin, Leo and myself (mostly Martin and Leo), it's been decided that the problem is probably Martin's sound card. He's going to try swapping it.

That is an odd problem. If it turns out to indeed be the fault of his sound card, we should note the make and the model so we can mention it in the troubleshooting section of our manual.

that does sound very strange. How did you decide it was the sound card?

It works for Leo and I. Which isn't 100% conclusive that it's the sound card, but it's likely.

He's using an M-Audio Firewire Solo. Which is made specifically for working on digital audio stuff: recording, mixing, post production, whatever...but not made specifically to handle game audio. That led to suspicion.
He's gonna try with a game/multimedia oriented soundcard (the m-audio would fall more specifically under the category of "audio interfaces" ).
I had an m-audio interface once, a delta 44 to be exact and I remember it would behave erratically with different games, some would play flawlessly while others experienced drop-outs, other ones would have clicks on the audio, sometimes latency would be introduced and the audio and video would fall out of sync.
This problems would correct themselves immediately once I chose the oem audio card as my multimedia/system/gaming device.

It seems to be the soundcard.
I have just tried TNM with a AC97 onboard and it works just fine
The soundcard that doesn't work is:
