Well from the link given by the above poster, you can see th new media from there. As for being worked on, the texture package is in its final stages right now. It's inches away from being complete but the problem is that the finishing touches actually take quite a while so you may have wait for another few weeks to go by.

I don't really know what exactly needs to be done, but I do know that weapon texturing is one of the things the team still has to finish.

What Jonas means is that even though the texture shows a red-dot, HDTP will not allow you to point a red dot at someone and then kill them. So in HDTP the red dot sight thing is there only for visuals, and in TNM it will actually work.

No, what I'm saying is that Deus Ex does not allow you to put a scope on the assault rifle, and that means HDTP doesn't allow it either. They still modelled a red dot sight on there in case certain mods allow you to scope assault rifles, and indeed TNM probably will in certain cases (though I make no promises at this time), but in HDTP itself, you will not be able to put a red dot sight on your assault rifle.

At least that's how I assume they did it. It's possible the red dot sight is just part of the base model and will always be visible in HDTP, but has no practical application.

In short, SHodges, the assault rifle itself will certainly be in HDTP, so please lighten the hell up.

I can mask it out or in with no real trouble, so it's no biggie.

Besides, a red dot sight is essentially just a glorified iron sight, and the pistols (stealth and normal) have always had those..and they've never been usable.

So having it there, but unusable, is entirely in keeping with vanilla DX. :P
