Post Two possible small issues (just dled TNM and excited to play
Well I have Deus Ex GoTY on Steam and installed the New Vision which is noticeable, but HDTP isn't due to Steam and I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it so it performs correctly. And second of all I have played a bit into the game and was wondering if at the first part in the hotel when you hack the terminal in the guard room when I turn the cameras off they just revert back to on instantly and was wondering if this is intended or a bug?

Thanks!

For HDTP, have you tried this?

The cameras in the hotel depend on the guards to trigger them so they work a bit differently from the normal cameras. I understand it can be confusing, but it's perfectly normal so don't worry about it :)

Tried that out and can't really have any comparison on what it should look like. The texture on the scenery is great but I think HDTP has a problem with Steam and I've been tinkering around trying to get everything setup so I can get ready to play through TNM. Really wish I could get it working but just might uninstall do the new textures TNM and thats it if I can't get it working.

Everything is fine except I tried HDTP mod again and it's not giving me errors but is there anyway I can compare or tell if it is working?

As I recall there is an HDTP test map. Going there should allow you to see if it is working. Direction to loading it are in the readme iIrc.

Just look at the ammo or med boxes - if they have cross bars and such, HDTP is on. If they're just plain 6-sided boxes, it's not.

Post Re: Two possible small issues (just dled TNM and excited to play
Following up real fast and enjoying the game alot so far, was just wondering since If followed the UI text fix topic but it's using the lowest resolution and is cutting out some of the options. I am using 1680x1050 and the text was like 600x400 or whatever the lowest is, I was wondering if there was a way to run 800x600 UI with my 1680x1050 resolution so I don't bleed my eyes out and can read the ingame text easily.

In a word: no. It's either or. I recommend you just use a smaller resolution (since I assume getting a larger monitor is out of the question).

My native is 1680x1050 is there a resolution you would suggest for a happy medium?

Depends on the size of your monitor. How about 1440x900?

The only problem is the UI gets smaller to the point that it hurts to read it due to it being so miniscule at higher resolutions. My native res of my monitor is 1680x1050, was trying to find a way to run that with a UI of 800x600 but it only seems the fix uses the lowest resolution and there is no way to change what it uses for the UI.

The fix doesn't actually use the lowest UI, it kinda cycles through 3 different scales, so it becomes smaller, smaller, then BIG, then smaller, smaller, then BIG, etc. There's an explanation of it somewhere around here. Did you try running at 1440x900 to see how that looks? It would be less of a problem if your monitor was large enough to properly display that resolution of yours without making the text unreadable. For example it looks perfectly fine at 1920x1200 on my 26" monitor

Do you also happen to know if there is a crosshair bug? Sometimes I gotta stand and crouch multiple times before my crosshair starts resizing properly and it seems to get stuck alot.

Not really. It's not just because your arm is injured?
