 Ogg Quality
Hi, one for Leo I think with regard to the quality setting for the ogg files.
I have never used ogg beofre, so was a bit stumped when the quality part in my converter was classed as 1 to 10 as oppoesed to bit rates. Do these relate to mp3 bit rates at all? What quality should I be doing it at?
I have exported straight from Cubase to ogg but that only gives Low. Medium or High quality - when I went for High, a 6 minute track was around 17MB which I thought was a bit OTT. So I can export as wav and convert, but need to know which quality to do it at (for your infor, 5 seemd to give about the same size as a 192 mo3).
Cheers.

OK, I'm going to answer my own post now, with an extract from the OGg Vorbis site:
"For now, quality 0 is roughly equivalent to 64kbps average, 5 is roughly 160kbps, and 10 gives about 400kbps. Most people seeking very-near-CD-quality audio encode at a quality of 5 or, for lossless stereo coupling, 6. The default setting is quality 3, which at approximately 110kbps gives a smaller filesize and significantly better fidelity than .mp3 compression at 128kbps"
So I'll go for 5 or possibly 6 depending on the size difference.
Cheers.

Sorry I missed the post
I convert to .ogg from Soundforge with "128 kbit cd quality" as the setup preset, I guess this would relate to your question.

Fantastic stuff, Orak
Supurbly ambient, and they're long enough that they'll neve get repetitive! It's great to see WorldCorp getting the kind of tracks it deserves. I can't wait to hear what else you come up with

Wow, good combat track. Reminded me of the Egypt level in Zodiac for some reason though , which isn't a bad thing .

I'm so fucking happy! I must curse, that's how happy I am! The music department is totally rolling again, 2 more tracks until we can move the progress bar up to 40%!!
And it's so good to have a full score for WorldCorp HQ, that level is visited so much throughout the game.

 Sub Level Ambient
Hi,
Just uploaded to my folder the ambient for the Sub Level in WorldCorp HQ. Hope you like it, as it was a bugger to come up with a 3rd ambient using the same sound! Not quite as long as the others, so sorry about that.
Jonas, sorry for shoving this straight up without messening you, but I'm so busy at the minute I think my head is going to explode!
Cheers all.

I notice some of the music is quite large. Like ~7 meg. What are we planning to do about that?
