 re-installing TNM
I recently reinstalled TNM using the Win32 Executable download (as my OS is Windows), but when I start up TNM I can't use my mouse. It's connected properly, but when I click it nothing happens, so I can't bring up TNM's main menu to start playing.
Any advice?
Hrm. This is in the wrong forum. Sorry, my mistake.

 Re: re-installing TNM
Moved the topic, but I can't be more help than that - never heard of this problem and I have no idea how it might be solved.
Although... did you try alt-tabbing out of the game and then back into it? Sounds stupid but it might be worth a shot.

 Re: re-installing TNM
Maybe a driver problem. You could try uninstalling the mouse via the hardware manager, in the HID dropdown list. Restart your computer and windows will install the drivers.

 Re: re-installing TNM
If the mouse works in Windows and in other games but just not in TNM, I wouldn't recommend reinstalling its drivers - it's almost certain they're not to blame.

 Re: re-installing TNM
The mouse works fine in deus ex and other things. I'll try your suggestion, Jonas. Hopefully that'll work. I also read in previous topics that uninstalling and reinstalling may solve the problem?

 Re: re-installing TNM
It might, but again it seems like overkill. You might try changing the renderer too. It's a long shot but the renderer affects a surprising amount of things.

 Re: re-installing TNM
Re-installing didn't work. How do I change the renderer, please?

 Re: re-installing TNM
There's a button for it in the options as I recall.

 Re: re-installing TNM
I could be wrong here, but as I recall the button didn't work. You had to do it in the ini.
It's been a while but I would guess that what you do is open TNM.ini find "GameRenderDevice=" and set it to whatever renderer you'd like.
The renderers are all listed in the ini and are of the form: [Thing.ThingyRenderDevice]
So if you search for "RenderDevice" that should quickly take you to all of their names.

 Re: re-installing TNM
Nobody ever reads the manual It's such a nice, meticulously formatted PDF, too.

 Re: re-installing TNM
I read the manual, a long time ago. I also remembered that it should be in there ... after I'd already posted.
It is a very nice document.

 Re: re-installing TNM
It's a very nice manual. The contents page makes it easily navigable.
Everything was where you said it would be, Chris. I tried all of the renderers but none of them solved this mouse problem, I'm afraid. My computer sucks ass.

 Re: re-installing TNM
I was told about a non-gaming solution with the Task Manager. Ending the explorer exe's process apparently. Personally I don't like mucking about too much there, so if you want to try that maybe set a restore point first.

 Re: re-installing TNM
Hmmm... I kind of assume that the devs would have picked up on this if it was applicable. But I know there is a warning in the game about playing DX before you install TNM. Did you do that?

 Re: re-installing TNM
Did I play DX first?? Is the pope a catholic! The funny thing is that when I install tnm it comes up with a box saying I haven't played DX yet (or something to that effect), which is lies because I have.
