 Re: The old republic
Erm, if I'm certain I've got an internet connection in the coming weeks, and when I'm not playing another game with a Steam buddy, I might just take you up on that. As long as Earth curvature/lag doesn't cause a kerfuffle.

 Re: The old republic
I'm not sure my current level of income could support me having to pay a monthly subscription as much as I would love too. This is probably a good thing considering I'm failing college studies as it is. As it stands, I've got several assignments in for this week (specifically tomorrow morning but I have a driving test tomorrow so I'm temporarily excused) that I haven't finished! Life story out of the way; what is the game like? Compairing it to the likes of KotOR would be ridiculous but how does gameplay and storytelling hold together considering it's an MMO.

 Re: The old republic
I've made arrangements with people to play with them and pretend we're playing KOTOR3 in co-op, so I'm not sure what server(s) I'll end up on.

 Re: The old republic
I'll report back once I can actually play. This is just me announcing the server I'll be playing on, because some of my friends I'll be playing with already are on it.

 Re: The old republic
Oh, I should add that I'll be on the Jedi side of things. @ Bobby I don't actually know if australia will have connection issues to what appears to be a european server. It could spell trouble for you Also...time zones might mess it up =P

 Re: The old republic
Yeah, the servers, forgot about that. Anyway, sometime in the future when we have a planetary server, all this regionalization and ping business will seem like a bad dream. The timezones could cause problems, especially when I become employed again.

 Re: The old republic
well, sadly, the best of circumstances will still make the ping be at least 130ms on a global scale for the person in the worst position. If the server was in like, Pakistan, the ping for both europeans and australians would have a lower bound of about 70ms. That's assuming absolutely everything ran perfectly. Which _will_ happen eventually. Theres a big incentive to run things perfectly for the hardware operators - they want to hold the information for as small a period of time as possible since it lowers their hardware costs. If we put a giant server in the planet core, though....Now there's an idea.

The Global Quantum Entanglement Network of 2015 will put all your concerns to rest.

We can but pretend that it is indeed KOTOR 3.

 Re: The old republic
Did you make a Consular or a Knight?
I really hope you made a Consular.

 Re: The old republic
I actually played some of this game when I was at my cousins. Looked decent enough for an MMO. Fighting seemed a lot cooler and involved than wow. Even so, I hope this bombs.

 Re: The old republic
If it does become a success, I hope BioWare will use the money not just to become an MMOG company like Blizzard did for a long time, but to fund their traditional RPG projects. If it doesn't become a success, I hope it can at least find some success as a free to play game, like Lord of the Rings Online did.
