Don't forget the Revision map mod. So it's like:justanotherfan wrote:DXR/HDTP/NV will be standard. If not, it will be difficult to get working and it won't look good. "Deus Ex 2.0" is a bit confusing since there is a Deus Ex 2, but it's a good intention. We need an acronym, like DX:RHDTPNV, or a name like Hideftexpronewvisorn.
Most probably this other project can be ignored, like my project to port Deus Ex to my 8086 calculator. Too bad.

That's actually a pretty good idea, I don't have any HDTP or NV links on the DXR site and I should. I also like the idea of a portal site, however it can lie in wait until the community as a whole has some more downloadable content (hopefully in January, as you pointed out CAN'T WAIT! DXv2 is gonna be the uber uberness).Mr_Cyberpunk wrote:It's not really a big deal, it just means I make up a badge for everyone to put on their Affiliates section and possibly make a portal site that explains the mission statement of the community as well as the mods and people associated with this collaboration.

There's still the question of who will be adding the pron to DXv2. Maybe that's what DX:NewOrder can do.
A portal site is unlikely to be kept up-to-date, though it's an interesting idea. I'd prefer cross-linking, the shared mission statements, and an available combined-installer (a no hassle DX:Rebohaichdeeteapeevision installer for UT2004).

The pron is what Power & Love is for
(Okay that was below the belt. Sorry about that.)

That is basically what I wanted to accomplish . So that we can release as one big update for the game rather than a set of module-mods that combine together to basically update the game anyway . DXv2 would do that if we could get all the teams prepared to compile their builds in one place.I'd prefer cross-linking, the shared mission statements, and an available combined-installer (a no hassle DX:Rebohaichdeeteapeevision installer for UT2004).
You'll have to call it DXv2.5 because TNM is DXv2. Or more like Deus-Ex-only-it's-way-better-now-and-wow-the-guys-behind-it-must-be-real-geniuses-why-don't-we-give-them-all-jobs-right-now??
So yeah, I'm glad that's settled.

What kind of argument is "just to be safe"?
@ Jonas. TNM is DXv2.5 fool! don't undersell yourself lol.
Meanwhile if we ever get to play with UT3, we up it to DXv3 after that. This way we can basically just keep upgrading the game as the engines come in for as long as we want without having to resort to any further "sub brands".
See it is a good idea
