 Re: New Stuff
You can prove if an image format is lossless or not by saving it as PSD and as BMP, then closing and re-opening the PSD and saving it as BMP. Both files identical? Then it's lossless.

 Re: New Stuff
Not really, though? Because PSD files contain layer information and shitload of other stuff, so a PSD file will never be identical to a BMP file, to my knowledge. And you can't just compare them by looking at them side by side, unless you're ridiculously good at spotting tiny irregularities on the pixel level.

 Re: New Stuff
I think what he meant was to save the file as a BMP first since it's lossless. Then save the project as a PSD, close Photoshop, open the PSD and save another BMP. If the files are different we know that some loss occurred after we used the PSD-file since BMP is lossless in itself.

 Re: New Stuff
Oh. That makes more sense. Don't know if it'd work in practice, but the logic is sound at least

 Re: New Stuff
Has there been any work on the skyline textures? I could understand if they may be the hardest (especially the NYC skyline) though.

 Re: New Stuff
I'm aware of what a stupid question this is, but I'm having trouble getting the ENB Series mod and New Vision to work together.
New Vision doesn't work with the DirectX9 renderer which is required for ENB, while ENB doesn't work with OpenGL which is required for NV. Would someone please explain this to me or link to a thread?

 Re: New Stuff
New Vision does with with D3D9 - are you sure you're putting UseS3TC=True in the right place?

 Re: New Stuff
Ok so you put that line under the D3D9 section of the .ini file; now it works. The instructions that come with the beta release seem to imply that it only works with OpenGL. Thanks.

 Re: New Stuff
It should work with any updated render, especially DirectX ones since S3TC is basically DXT1, which is the most basic form of DirectX texture compression.

 Re: New Stuff
Double post, but thought this was worth pointing out. It won't be quite this big once the engine compresses them, but the animated textures are going to make the mod massive. They're worth it though, honest.

 Re: New Stuff
Lol @ you saying this would be released "next week".... about 3-4 weeks ago??
SERIOUSLY...499MB?? Oof. Is that ALL textures or just the anims?
Loving the sound of this and eagerly awaiting now. Hoping you're still going to do a .dds version for MP?? Btw, I haven't found a way of making masked textures work properly by calling them using the renderer.
Shin.
